PRESENTATION

• African Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics

(ACE-B) is a training and research center created

as a result of fruitful collaboration between

NIAID/NIH and the University USTTB;

• The goal of the center is to develop Bioinformatics'

expertise for sustainable Biomedical Research;

• Well established Research opportunities with

ICER-Mali covering malaria, HIV, TB, Insect Vector

of diseases, leishmaniasis, filariasis, lassa fever and neu-

rological disorders.

MISSION

Empower west African researchers with the neces-

sary tools and expertise to conduct high-quality

computational biology research;

Provide on-site and remote training for advanced

bioinformatics tools and databases ;

Provide continued mentorship for faculty and stu-

dents, from computational biology specialists at

the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious

Diseases.

INFRASTRUCTURES

High Performance Computing:

Providing a low-cost, low-maintenance computing solu-

tion for advanced bioinformatics research.

Focus of this capability: HP DL580 (Generation 8) server

containing 4 Intel® Xeon® E7 CPUS for a total of 64 Cores.

The ACE program also includes:

Telelearning Facility: a classroom

space with 15 modern Bioinformatics

workstations engineered for optimal communication

and learning in remote training workshops.

MASTER PROGRAM IN BIOINFORMATICS

Goals and career opportunities :

° To address the necessity of preparing young people

who are capable of operating in the interfacing domains

of biology, mathematics, and information technology;

° To address the needs of high-level biological research

and development for business and health research orga-

nizations;

° To stimulate multidisciplinary approach, indepen-

dence, spirit of initiative, and student research.

PRESENTATION

Techniques et des Technologies (USTT-B);

recherche Biomédicale en Afrique;

• Le centre bénéficie des opportunités de recherche

bien établies avec ICER-Mali sur: Malaria, VIH,

Tuberculose, Maladies parasitaires, Leishmaniose,

Filariasis, Fièvre de lassa et troubles neurologiques.

MISSION

haute qualité en biologie computationnelle;

données ;

maladies infectieuses (NIAID/NIH).

INFRASTRUCTURES

° Stimuler l'approche multidisciplinaire, l'autonomie, l'es-
