• Do not disassemble ink containers. Otherwise, ink may get in your eyes or on your skin.
• Only use Nazdar Solvent ink and appropriate cleaning liquid. Using other ink or solvent may cause permanent damage to the printer.

Step 1: Obtain Initial Prints with Original Ink
(1A) Before commencing with the ink conversion it is essential we obtain a good nozzle check. No warranty dispute, regarding the conversion can be supported or defended if a pre nozzle check is not supplied. If several nozzles are permanently missing even after several cleans, you can proceed providing the customer agrees to signing a disclaimer, stating the condition of the nozzle check before conversion. (See attached Disclosure document.)
(1B) RIP and print images that you are familiar with using the customer’s image configuration in the RIP with the existing ink set. Nazdar recommends an image or images that will include raw color data (color bars), flesh tones, vector art, and grey scale data such as the Onyx Test File or similar.
BEFORE REMOVING INKAn alarm will sound when the ink
level is low. Alarm is located inside the swinging ink supply door.
Disconnect the alarm or place tape over the alarm to diffuse the sound.

Step 2: Uninstall OEM Ink - Digital Syphon Pumps
Remove the cap from the Main Ink Tank and place the Digital Siphon Pump into the Main Ink Tank. Pump the OEM ink into the empty 5 gallon bucket until the Main Ink Tank is empty. Repeat this procedure for the remaining colors and Maintenance Solution tank.
Step 3: Uninstall OEM Ink - Tygon Tubing
After using the Digital Syphon Pumps, some residual ink will be left in the Main Ink Tank. This ink will be removed by overflowing the filters.
The filters are located behind the Refill System Panel. Carefully remove this panel and set aside. Panel is attached by wires that should remain connected to the printer.
Uncap the filter overflow and connect an 18” piece of Neoprene UV Resistant Tubing with luer fitting. Place end of tubing into the 5 gallon bucket or waste container. Repeat this process for each ink filter.
Using the Refill System panel, manually activate the pumps by pressing and holding the button for a few seconds at a time. This will pump ink into the filter, pushing it out the overflow and emptying the tanks. Continue to pump ink until air flows out of the tubing. After emptying tanks, remove tubing and replace overflow caps on the filters.
Monitor the pumps as they can easily overheat. Take the necessary breaks and alternate the use of the pumps.
Empty waste bottle before commencing
The machine will need to remain ON for the duration of the conversion process

Step 4: Install Nazdar UV Conversion Fluid
Remove the caps from the ink tanks and evenly divide one 5L bottle of Nazdar UV Conversion Fluid between the tanks.
Pour Nazdar Maintenance Solution into the maintenance tank.
Step 5: Purge Nazdar UV Conversion Fluid
This printer is converted through purging. The vacuum (negative pressure) system on the Anapurna and Dilli machines is extremely strong. Monitor the vacuum system during purging and maintain 1-2 second purges with several breaks.
Commence to purging by insuring that the Ink / Solvent Toggle Switch is in the up position for all colors. Turn off or deactivate the vacuum (negative pressure) by spinning the dial. Push the Blue Purge Button.Be careful to monitor the pumps. When purging you will hear the pumps activate after a couple of seconds. This indicates that the secondary inks tanks need ink so the pumps will be pumping the ink up to them. Stop purging when the pumps are activated. When they stop then commence to purge. Repeat this process until 1 ½ - 2 liters of purged ink is in the waste container.

Step 6: Uninstall Conversion Fluid (Flush) - Tygon Tubing
Uninstall Nazdar UV Conversion Fluid (flush) using the same method of tygon tubing. (See Step #3)
Step 7: Install Nazdar Ink
Pour the appropriate color of Nazdar Ink into designated ink tank.
Reactivate or remove tape from alarm. When the ink tanks are full, the alarm should not sound.
Step 8: Purge Nazdar Ink
Repeat the purging process. (See Step #5)
Step 9: Replace Filters
Replace all ink filters. Filters should be provided in the Nazdar Preventative Maintenance Kit. Manually activate the pumps to bleed out each filter.
Step 10: Print Nozzle Test Print & Solid Color Blocks
Print a nozzle test print. Print an image with solid color blocks (See Example Image). The image should contain 100% CMYKcm as well as a 400% 4-Color Build. This will exercise the machine and help clear the ink train of flush. Print the image on the full size of the media/bed without color management. Repeat this several times before beginning color profiling.
Step 8: Create Profiles
After all calibrations are complete, create custom profiles through the RIP.

Vacuum (Negative Pressure) Overflow
Ink that enters the vacuum (negative pressure) system will collect in a waste tank located on the back on the carriage. This tank can be emptied by turning off the printer and opening the valve. Ink collecting in this tank can effect the vacuum system.
Helpful Technical Notes:
The pictures depicted are in attempt to help the technician become more familiar with the machine. These are brief descriptions based off of one technician’s notes.
