WHEELS IN MOTION...that was officially AMAZING. In just one week we raised over £1,100 at Warsop Carnival, saw three clever members win awards in Warsop

in Bloom; we had a regional winner and National finalist in the NSPCC awards; we saw an amazing lady hand over the reigns of our club to an equally fantastic new president, and to top it all three new members joined at our first meeting. Several ladies 'hat' a great time supporting the NSPCC ladies lunch and if that wasn't enough many of our club supported the Warsop Rotary event of Party at The Farm which raised over £5,000. Well ladies if that's not a week that was, I don't know what is and we were only in week one of the new year!! So ladies if you're sitting comfortably... Let the fun begin.

This is the week...Touch a Heart of a Friend, a Family and a Community

These are our Carnival queens who all helped to serve over 1,000 carnival guests with cups of tea, coffee and cakes at the Warsop Carnival on 03 July. A big big thank you to everyone for helping, attending and providing cakes. Sue, Chris and Christine should be very proud of themselves, because we are for winning awards in the Warsop in Bloom competition.

    Carnival Day in Warsop

    Three Great New Members

Wasting no time at all President Gloria welcomed three new members to the club on her first night in office. Lesley Wilson, Joy Brealey and Judith Wood. Profiles of these new members will be in one of our next issues as this one is too jam packed full. Say hello to these ladies, make them welcome and remember Gloria wants us to move around and sit with someone newI

Warsop ladies supported the National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) on 30 June at the Oakham Suite in Mansfield, helping to raise over £700. In other NSPCC News we told you last issue that from all the nominations received across the East of England region, our President Gloria had been chosen as

this year’s recipient of the NSPCC Childhood Champion Award for Outstanding Achievement of the Year for East of England! On 6th July, also our presidential change over day, Gloria met the Countess of Wessex and Dame Esther Rantzen to receive her award. She then hot footed it back to Warsop from London to receive the Presidents office from now Past President Sharon. The NSPCC is the President Gloria's chosen charity for 2016-17.

Mad Hatters take tea with the NSPCC

A Happy New year to you all.

Thank you Sharon for a brilliant year. Best wishes Gloria from all the club.

Sharon can finally put on her slippers and have a cuppa as Gloria takes on the role of president with a welcome speech made by Rotary President Tim. The club now stands at 45 members and as the July meeting attendance shows, the club has an appetite for fun and friendship. Touch a Heart now takes over as the theme for the year. But remember we will always be Unique and United in Warsop club.

What's on next? Coming up in the next few weeks are some fantastic events. 7th August - Mediterranean afternoon at the home of Lynn and Graham Goff. Members and partners only.

6th September - Confessions of a Dame. At the Hostess for a sandwich and sweet lunch. All welcome, please share the event and bring friends and family.

4th October - inter club International afternoon at The John Fretwell Centre.
