General Guidelines:

Follow general workplace safety instruction, Always clean the pipe prior to peeling. Make sure there is no dirt or any other debris on the pipe section to be peeled. Always keep the split peeler in good working order by cleaning it after each use. Store the peeler in a proper manner to prevent dblade and mechanism to ensure a long life time.

Compressed air may be useful in removing dirt from the moving parts. Factors such as dirt can reduce the lifetime of the cutting blade, and it may have to be replaced.

Caution! – Be aware the cutting blade is sharp and can cause injury if handled improperly!

Warning! – The warning, caution, and instructions discussed in this manual cannot cover all possiband situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and cautfactors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.

Operating the Tool

1. Open the peeler and place it over the pipe section to be peeled, observing the position of the cutting blade on the pipe.

2. Tighten the thumb screw to the stop to securely attach the peeler to the pipe. You may want to use your thumb to compress the spring on the thumb screw as indicated.

3. Turn the peeler in the direction indicated by the arrow on the housing. The peeler is self feeding and will move in the direction indicated on the picture.

4. Continue turning the peeler until an adequate length of pipe has been peeled.

5. Open the peeler by loosening the thumb screw and remove it from the pipe.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLASTIC PIPE SURFACE PEELER 1. Push pipe end to be peeled onto the guide pin

2. Using the blade release lever, pull the cutting blade back

3. Turn peeler a few revolutions, until the end of the pipe is in the middle of the cutting blade

4. Release the blade release lever, and continue to turn the peeler until the stop is reached and

the blade does no longer cut into new material

5. To prevent scoring of the peeled surface, depress the blade release lever to pull the cutting blade back, and remove the peeler from the pipe

6. Thread guide pin back to original position

FEATURES OF K TEC - 17

The K TEC – 17 AC electrofusion processor weighing 17 pounds is capable of providing up to 80 amps of current to an electrofusion fitting. The fact that there isn’t a transformer inside the control box means that the output current of the processor is limited by the output capability of the generator power supply. Since most generators used in the field have 30 amp circuit breakers, the K TEC – 17 electrofusion processor unit has a practical output limit of roughly 30 amps.
