The Internet of Things revolutionises our everyday livesWith the Internet of Things, everything around us is being measured and converted into data – both when we are aware of it and when we are not. IoT will help us become more efficient, healthier and safer. At the same time, we will become more aware of how our data is being used. Thus, the Internet of Things has a huge potential.

We help you exploit new business opportunities brought about by IoT.It is our experience that it is essential to incorporate knowledge about user behaviour into the development of new technology and software for specific purposes. Big data is a buzzword but also an actual catalyst for growth. The data is available and it is important to exploit it – big or small.

The trick is not to get access to the data or to process it– but to ask the right questions.

We saw a huge potential in beacon technology

– especially when the Alexandra Institute got the idea to incorporate sound.

When blind people can find their way by means of

sounds they activate, it has tremendous value for them.

Birgit ChristensenICT consultant at The Institute for the

Blind and Partially Sighted (IBOS)

Blind people find their way with audio beaconsCHALLENGE: A blind or partially sighted person may have difficulties in finding the reception, the toilets or a person in an unknown building.

SOLUTION: We have developed audio beacons that combine Bluetooth beacons, smartphones and sound messages. A blind or partially sighted person follows sounds that he or she activates by means of his or her mobile phone. The solution was developed in collaboration with the Institute for the Blind and Partially Sighted (IBOS), the Danish Association of the Blind, Bagvendt, and Living IT Lab. A beacon is a small radio transmitter that broadcasts messages and information automatically and directly to your location.
