Our Goals

•Generate ideas that leverage technology to enhance the student experience•Help build a culture of innovation

What we did

•Talked with students •Brainstormed in two sessions and produced 40 ideas•Excluded ideas involving pedagogy•Voted to prioritize ideas•Learned more about certain ideas

What we did not do

•Try to invent new technology•Spend time thinking about implementation •Obtain quotes on cost •Propose completely unrealistic ideas

Wireless and Mobile Accessibility

•Ensure entire campus is wireless-especially dorms to meet students' basic expectations

Wireless and Mobile Accessibility

•Enable printing from personal computers and mobile devices to networked campus printers

•Allow students to send documents to printers in classrooms and labs •More printers in dorms •Better printer supply and maintenance

Wireless and Mobile Accessibility •Give students ability to connect mobile devices to more projectors and monitors (Farley 002)•Provide ability for students to wirelessly connect various types of devices such as computers, phones, game systems-in multiple locations

Innovation Grants•Establish Technology Innovation Grants that provide students, faculty, and staff with the resources to make strong innovative concepts a reality

•Enables continuous innovation •Allows funding to reach people with passion for specific ideas

•Fill the role of Instructional Technologist

Security•Network LCD screens across campus to push messages to specific locations

•Emergency messages like "stay in classroom"•Campus-wide updates

•"Quick Call" safety app•Will allow students to dial Public Safety quickly and provide their location

•Other safety apps•Safe Ride-Activate phone call or text message to Public Safety•Bystander program for anonymous tips

Security

•Increases convenience, usage and reduces students walking alone

•Additional security cameras, call boxes, safety-light sensors

•Enhance the sense of security presence on campus and compensate for older building architecture

Recreational Technology•Technology vending machine

•Laptop vending machine to enhance personal safety (Drexel University)-students don’t have to carry laptops across campus at night

•Device support•Charging stations for devices in Cafes, lounge areas•Vending or sales of peripheral accessories

•Helps increase attendance at university events

•"Order Ahead" app•Allows students and staff to place orders for pick up at cafes

•Interactive map that would allow students and others to locate buildings on campus and in town
