What is Sucragel? > 100% vegetable origin emulsifier and oil
thickener
> Easy-to-use liquid product
> Safe, mild and preservave-free
> 94% cerfied organic version available
Formula(ng with Sucragel Sucragel enables the formulator to make oily gels that
instantly turn to milk on contact with water.
Sucragel holds oils in place in a stable micro-emulsion and
when water is added the mix changes into a cream or a
light loon, giving countless possibilies.
Guidelines: > Usage level to make an oily gel: CF & AOF - 20 to 25%;
AP - 15%
> Usage level in emulsions: 5 to 8%
> pH: 4-8
> Hot or cold process
What viscosity can I expect
with Sucragel? > To decrease viscosity, add water or glycerine
> To increase viscosity, add waxes, bu8ers, clays or plant
powders to your formulaon
> In general, using Sucragel AOF will give higher
viscosity gels than using CF or AP
> Addion of Sucrablend SP at low levels does not affect
viscosity
> More Sucragel = lower viscosity!
> Sucragel CF: Glycerin & Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides & Aqua & Sucrose Laurate
> Sucragel AOF: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil & Glycerin & Aqua & Sucrose Laurate
> Sucragel AOF Bio: Glycerin & Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil & Sucrose Laurate & Citrus Auranum Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Water
> Sucragel AP: Glycerin & Aqua & Sucrose Laurate & Alcohol & Sucrose Myristate

Determina(on of Skin Hydra(on: in vivo data A hydra(on study was conducted with 20 subjects using 2 oily gel cleansers, one based on Sucragel CF and one with
Sucragel AOF. These were compared with a moisturising SLES based cleanser.
Each of the three products were massaged onto the subject’s skin before being rinsed off. Readings were then taken using a
corneometer at periods of 2 hours and a comparison was made with an untreated area of the skin.
Claims: > Skin is twice as hydrated 2 hours aIer using a Sucragel based cleanser compared to using a moisturising SLES cleanser.
> By using Sucragel at 20% in an oily gel cleanser, skin will remain significantly hydrated aIer 8 hours.
> Skin stays hydrated all day and no need for moisturiser!

What is Sucrablend? Sucrablend SP V2 is an ingredient used in conjuncon with
Sucragel to improve the high temperature stability of
formulaons.
Sucrablend does not affect the clarity or viscosity of your
formulaon, it just structures the gel to make it more
robust and less prone to oil leaching at temperatures of
up to 50°C. Made from a blend of two sugar esters, it is
safe, mild and suitable for natural formulaons (Ecocert
approved).
Formula(ng with
Sucrablend > Use between 0.2 and 1% in an
oily gel
> Melt in Sucragel phase before
combining with oil
> Form gel as normal

Formula(ng with Sucrabases The Sucrabases already resemble finished products, so
minimal formulang is needed. Just two or three ingredients
can be added to make a simple cleanser, or a mul-step
process can be used to make a more complicated formulaon
- the choice is yours.
Guidelines: > Oils - can be added at a level of up to 5% by weight of
Sucrabase. Oils can be considered as: Vegetable Oils,
Esters, Silicones, Synthec Oils, Essenal Oils, Fragrance
Oils, Oil-based extracts or acves, Bu8ers and Waxes (must
be melted first). Oils may be able to be incorporated at a
level of up to 10%, but stability cannot be guaranteed.
> Glycerine - can give a honey-like texture, and can give a
pourable, clear product at up to 25% by weight.
> Powders - talc, kaolin, bentonite and plant powders can
be added to change both the texture and the colour of the
product. Scrub parcles can be added, such as loofah, silica,
bamboo, sugar and salt.
> Powdered or liquid surfactants can be added to give a
foaming oily gel.
> Water or water-based extracts or ac(ves should be added
to a formulaon as the last step. Any amount of water can be
added to Sucrabase depending on the viscosity and quanty
of oil phase required. Water based gels can also be added.
> Most of the above steps can be undertaken at room
temperature and with minimal srring.
> Your product must be pH 4-8 to ensure stability.
What are Sucrabases? > Ready-to-use cosmec gel bases
> Add simple ingedients to make a wide variety of
finished products
> Very easy, just a few simple steps required
> Generally no heat or shear mixing required
> 4 variees available
> Very versale
