THE CONCEPTTwo rival gangs who deal drugs end up having a massive battle

to see who are true drug lords of the town. The twist in the

story is that the drugs they deal to the locals are in factvarious candy and confectionaries.

The rst gang is made up of dogs and they are called

The Dawgz. They are from the ghetto, the roughest area of

the town. They deal Cake . They specialise in supplying

the locals with exotic and expensive cake such as Black For-

est Cherry Gateaux and Panettone. The other local dog addicts

rely on this gang to supply them with their every need.

They come in to trouble when The Yutes, who are a ri-

val group of drug dealing cats, start to deal in the Dawgz

territory. The Yutes start dealing a new drug called Purr

Purr which sends all the locals crazy and the Dawgz start to

loose customers. The Yutes deal Cat nip on the side also.

It all heats up and a nal battle happens when (unknow-

ingly to the gangs) it is bonre night. They have a nal bat-

tle where many animals get injured. They ght with kitch-

en utensils- cookie cutters are made into death stars, our

bombs and electric whisks covered in cream; but they all get

the shock of their life when re works start going off to

which they all revert back to their animal like states and

run to hide away, which ends the battle.

The general feel of the animation is to be quite light

hearted and funny. There will be humourous gags that could

include Maurice bursting into the bakery desperate for a

slice of cake or a doughnut. He could shout something really

aggressive such as I NEED A MOTHER FUCKING DOUGHNUT!! GIVE

ME A DOUGHNUT!. Or a customer could come back with their

cake to complain because it has a fur ball in it.

Due to the subject matter, this would not be suitable

for an audience under 16 years of age. I think the target au-

dience would be better suited for people aged between 16-25.

I want the animation to have a stylised feel to it. The

character designs reect this, as they are fairly simple but

still manage to retain character. The backgrounds and envi-

ronments are also quite stylised to reect my theme.

Axl is the leader of The Dawgz. He is powerful and inuential. Eve-ryone looks up to him and no one will cross him. He is rather un-

pleasant and his pointy features represent this. He owns a chain of

successful bakeries but behind this farce he is an evil drug push-

er. He is unaware that the cats are on his tail, trying to poach

his loyal customer base. He specialises in dealing Cake - the

more exotic the better. He has loyal customers so if he was to have

this tapped into, he would be destroyed. He enjoys tourturing his

enemies using his bakery equipment. His favourite method of tour-

ture is beating others with his infamous egg beaters.

Maurice is a crazy cake addicted dog. He needs at least twocakes to function in a day. His favourite type of cake is wed-

ding cake - he has been known to gate crash weddings steal the

cake in order to get his hit. Other than a massive addiction to

cake, Maurice doesnt really do a lot else. This more due to the

fact that his cake addiction has turned into a super morbidly

obese lump, so he is physically incapable of doing a lot. Having

said that, he can get quite aggressive when he doesnt get what

he wants. He uses his weight to crush his opponents to death.

Mr Whifes is Axls side kick. He might be uffy on the outside but

he denatley isnt cute. He has an extremley glass shatteringly high

pitched yap, which most oppenents get startled at, due to his much

manlier apperence. He is very proud of his ultra large afro and if

anyone tries to touch it, let alone smooth him, they will suffer the

consquences. Mr Whifes does Axls dirty work for him and uses his

afro comb as a leathal weapon. He has a very short fuse and when he

gets mad EVERYONE knows. He fell into the Dawg gang when he ran away

from his original owners who used to pamper him and make him up allthe time. His orignal owners are still looking for him and perhaps

one day they will nd him...

Vladimir is the leader of the Yutes. He is an Russian Immagrant

and does not speak much, so when he does you know he means buis-

ness. He sells high quality Meow Meow and Cat Nip, and charges

a fair price which is why he is starting to gain customers from

Axls drug circle. He has also moved his buisness into Axls

neighbourhood, so tension is building. He has many feline clients

that rely on his services in order to get thier hit.

The Twins

The Twins, whos real names are Kai and Liam are somewhat men-

tal. The Twins are always together creating a rukus. They are

the two who scare others away with their odd personalities and

creepy looks. They are both addicted to Cat Nip and when they

dont get their x they get very irritable and wreak havoc.

Most of the time they are more a hinderance than a help, as

they constantly biccker which can destroy some important deals.

The only cat that can control them is Vladimir.

Ming is Vladimirs side kick and loyal friend. Ming is silent

and deadly. He approaches others quickly and kills them with

slight of hand. His favourite sound is Claws running down a

chalk board.

Environment

This is one of the designs I drew up in Photoshop for the en-

vironment/background. This scene in particular is a poten-tial idea for the nal ght scene. I thought that I could de-

sign the Dawgz bakery, but I thought that it wouldnt t in

with the nal gag of the battle being ruined by the very hu-

man holiday of bonre night. This is a design of the kitchen

of the family that one of the Dawgz belongs to. It is pretty

rough but I tried to incorporate the loose sketchy style that

I like. I felt it was a bit of a contrast to the sleekness of

the characters.

Environment

ResearchThese are a few pictures I found on

the internet that I took inspiration

from. The two top ones are from Disney

animations. The bottom left picture

is taken from a ash animation called

Bruce. The bottom left is an il-

lustration by Patrick Hruby. I really

liked the blocky colour that he used,

and how it is really stylized. I want-

ed to try and incorporate these ele-

ments in my nal environment design.

I saw these images when looking through various art bogs and fell in

love with them. They are by and illustrator called Amy Blackwell. I re-

ally liked the simplicity of the forms but they still managed to have

character to them also. I also really liked the quirkyness to the draw-

ings. I based my characters around these designs as they heavily in-

spired me.
