This aerosol, pressurized spray can has a 12 ounce capacity for the disinsection of airplanes or ships. The aerosol has a composition of; 5% pyrethrum extract, 3% DDT,. S% cyclobexanone, 2% lubricating oil (SAE 30), 59. 5% dichlorofluorom ethane, 25. 5% trichloro- fluoromethane. It is a non-refillable pressurized can. Herbicides Some confusion in terms exists. Properly, an herbicide will kill herbs - plants that annually die back to the ground and have no woody stem. Silvicides and. arborcides kill tree

species, and phytocides kill all plant species. However, since the term "herbicide" ha.s been used by almost all writers to describe a chemical which kills woody plants, it is used to head this group of pesticides.

I. Repellents

A. , FSN 6840-246-6167 - This is the-stock number for the obsolete . personal and clothing insect repellent. It is :in 2 .ounce glass .bottles. Use only the new repellent (FSN 6840-753-4963 Insect Repellent, in 2 ounce polyethylene bottles. It is an excellent leech repellent/too).

B. FSN 6505-110-0100 Benzyl Benzoate, Saponafed, N. F. in one pint bottles. This item is usually available from medical supplies. It is an excellent repellent against ehiggers’and fleas but not a-gainst mosquitoes.or.ticks.

C. FSN 6840-242-4217 Lindane 1%, powder, in 2 ounce cans is issued primarily for personal and clothing application where DDT resistant lice are prevalent. However, this powder may be used as an aid in repelling or killing fleas, ants, bedbugs, and other crawling insects when about. 1 ounce of the powder is dus.ted lightly on the blankets and .the soil or floor immediately surrounding the bedding (Note - this item is often issued in cans .which carry the old stotek number .51 -I-188-25. Although it was .packed several years ago, recent tests prove-that it has retained..its insecticide-potential.)

( D. FSN 8510-161 - are the first seven numbers for Paint., .face, camouflage, stick form. This camouflage cream contains the ;insect repellent dimethyl phthalate and will give good protection against mo’squitoes and many biting insects where the skin’is;painted-.with it.
