into the Acumatica & JAAS Manufacturing Software™ (JAMS) suite of business

applications.

Using barcodes and wireless communication, inventory is managed and tracked from

receiving and labeling through to picking and shipment. FlexAbility updates inventory,

purchasing, production and order management in the cloud with Acumatica.

THE FLEXABILITY ARCHITECTURE

The FlexAbility Client for Acumatica is built on the Windows CE platform using Visual

Basic.Net. A version is also available for Windows 7 depending on the application.

Using Acumatica Web Services, data is downloaded to a SQL Server Compact Edition

database on the device. Once this download has completed, the handhelds can be used

offline, if desired. No connection to a wireless network or the internet is required.

Transaction screens may be customized including fields, position and validation rules

without modifying the source. This allows a company to modify the behavior of

transactions to match specific business rules and processes.

Scans are stored in the local database and pushed to Acumatica when a connection

becomes available. After uploading, transactions reside in custom tables in the

Acumatica database and may be viewed and edited using Acumatica pages. Acumatica

Schedules import and post the transactions as desired.

With this design, no on-premise server is required.

What’s more, the Microsoft Windows CE operating platform supports a broad range

of intelligent devices, from industrial handhelds to vehicle-mounted terminals to

mobile phones. Simply select the device that conforms best to your specific business

requirements.

Purchasing

The FlexAbility Purchasing module facilitates receiving vendor shipments by scanning barcoded receivers or entering the PO number. Items can be scanned from vendor’s labels, UPC codes, or the receiver. Inventory IDs are validated and lot/serial information can be captured. Optionally, FlexAbility Labeling can print barcoded labels for the inventory received.

Inventory

With FlexAbility Inventory, warehouse employees have the ability to enter inventory Issues & Receipts, as well as Move inventory from bin to bin. The Inventory module supports one-step and two-step Transfers between sites. Physical Inventory and Cycle Counting are also supported.

Production

The FlexAbility Production module tracks the quantity and status of orders as they move through each operation step in the manufacturing process. The Ma-terial Picking process allows shop floor employees to maintain a current and ac-curate list of materials used against Production Orders. With Production Move and Production Completion, it’s easy to see where an order is in the production process and how many have been completed or scrapped at each step.

Order Management

FlexAbility Order Management facilitates the picking and shipment of sales or-ders. Inventory IDs and quantities are verified against the Shipper for accurate order fulfillment. Because FlexAbility is seamlessly integrated, order steps can be added to require any combination of picking and packing required by busi-ness processes. As appropriate, carton, pallet and shipping labels are printed. Finally, the shipment can be confirmed from FlexAbility.
