Changing the data while in PowerPoint
• Using this method means there is no need to link to your original excel chart
• This is the best method if you feel that you might need to change the data of your chart right before your meeting

• Open up both your PowerPoint document and your Excel document• In your Excel document, select the information that you want to
copy into your PowerPoint deck

• After you select the area on your excel chart, do control C to copy then go to the page in your PowerPoint document where you want to place it
• In PowerPoint select Paste Special. Then select Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet Object – Click Okay

• Your chart will come in like an excel object which allow you to edit it while in PowerPoint if needed
• You can resize it by dragging the corners (do not drag the top or bottom as it will distort the image

• You can change the info in the slide or reformat it by double clicking it which brings up the Excel menus. Change/reformat as needed, click outside the object for it to take effect

If you will not have changes to the Excel file…
• This is another way of inserting if you know that you will not have changes to your Excel data

• Open up both your PowerPoint document and your Excel document• In your Excel document, select the information that you want to
