Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten
Registration Duplin County Partnership for
Children helps to fund two Pre-Kindergarten classes located
at Chinquapin Elementary and Rose Hill-Magnolia. The Pre-K activity helps prepare children to
enter kindergarten ready to learn. The learning environment is organized around The Creative Curriculum that offers
eight areas of interest. Registration for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten will be held at all Elementary Schools on
Friday, March 23, 2018 from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. Please bring your child on registration day.

On behalf of DCDEE, as of January 4, 2018, the Criminal Background Check application must be completed online. No bubble sheets required.
Please be reminded of the following:
Do not mail bubble sheets to the CBC unit if you have entered information in the portal.
Do not mail release forms to DCDEE unless you are under the age of 18, are submitting a manual fingerprint card, or also submitting an out of state criminal check at the time of your application.
Each applicant must have their own individual registered NCID
Remember your NCID login name and password.
Include ALL names you have used in your application, including maiden name and any other alias names you have used.
Payment for a Criminal Background Check is part of the online application process. The application cost will continue to be $26.50.
Fingerprints must be completed through your local Smart Start or county Sheriff’s Office.
If you have not lived in North Carolina for all of the last 5 years, you must obtain the following from ALL states and countries you have lived:
Criminal Record Check for all of the state (s) and countries you have lived in
A check of the child abuse and neglect registries (typically done through the local department of social services) for all of the state (s) and countries you have lived in.

Training Description:
Would you like to gain a better understanding of the Infant Toddler Environment Rating Scale? More importantly, discover how to use the ITERS-R as a self-assessment tool to maintain quality long after the assessment is over. This two-hour training provides an overview of the ITERS-R. This training will explain the organization of the seven subscales used to evaluate programs, as well as the scoring system and what programs can expect before, during and after an assessment. Participants are encouraged to bring a copy of the spiral bound Infant Toddler Environment Rating Scale-Revised. DCDEE training topics include planning a safe, healthy learning environment, program management and inclusion of children with special needs.

Bell Pepper Meat Loaves
Preheat oven to 350° and line a medium baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut ends off peppers and set aside. Remove seeds and slice peppers into 2” thick rings. Place on prepared baking sheet..
In a large bowl, combine beef with bread crumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, onion, thyme, garlic and tomato paste. Season with salt and pepper and stir until combined. Fill each pepper with meatloaf mixture.
In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup and brown sugar and brush on tops of meatloaf. Bake for 35 minutes, then top with cheese, and bake 5 to 10 minutes more, or until cheese is melty.
Garnish with parsley and serve.

3 bell peppers 1 lb. ground beef 1/4 c. bread crumbs 1 Egg, lightly beaten 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/2 Onion, finely chopped 1/2 tsp. fresh thyme leaves, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 1 tbsp. tomato paste kosher salt Freshly ground black pepper 1/4 c. ketchup 1 tbsp. brown sugar 2 c. Shredded Monterey Jack 1tbsp of fresh parsley for garnish
