In a Dec. 5 letter, the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MS- BA) asked the town’s school building committee to submit two additional addition/renovation op- tions with sizes and costs closer to state guidelines by Friday, Jan. 4. The Preferred Schematic Report is now due Feb. 14, 2013, rather than Dec. 13. And the MSBA’s Board of Directors will likely review the proposal at its April 3, 2013, rather than in late January 2013. The delay may mean the renovated and expand- ed high school is not com- pleted by September 2019, which was the projected end date. The ZBA discussed the building’s architecture on Tuesday, and it will discuss lighting, signage, drainage and soil condi- tions on Tuesday, Jan. 8. A discussion about traf- fic will be on Jan. 29, fol- lowed by another discus- sion about architecture and a discussion about demolition. CVS is seeking a special permit/site plan review to build a 13,158-square-foot store. Three existing struc- tures—the retail mall at 278-292 Washington St., the auto repair shop at 12 Swanton St. and a dry cleaners and restau- rant at 16-20 Swanton St.—would be demol- ished to make room for the development.
