IT Project Updates I.T. staff have been busy on a number fronts as we continue to facilitate a num- ber of initiatives around the College. Here’s the rundown: oneCARD The pilot phase of Sheridan’s oneCARD project has ended and we now enter the implementation phase. Calendar/Email Project

Staff Calendar/Email System

After a series of town hall meetings in the spring to

a new email/calendar system. After the RFPs were evaluated it was decided that Microsoft Exchange would be our next email/calendar platform. Originally scheduled to roll-out in August, the implementation of the new system is now scheduled for the October

Pilot Phase I

Beginning September 10, all of Sheridan’s I.T. depart-ment will be migrated to the new system.

Pilot Phase 2

Beginning September 13, the pilot group will expand to include additional users across Sheridan before it is fully implemented in October.

Email Policy Changes

Maximum File Sizes: the maximum message size you can send or receive under the new system will be 30MB, including attachments.

Mailbox Quotas: user mailboxes will have an enforced quota of 10GB (if you believe 10GB will not )

Printing Update

Secure Access Printing Introduced at New Davis C-Wing and Davis & Trafalgar Road Campus Learning Commons

Debuting at the Hazel McCallion campus last fall, secure access printing is now being transitioned across all of Sheridan’s campuses.

Password ChangesTo align our password procedures with industry best practices, and to en-sure proper password protection of our systems, I.T. will be implementing enhanced password security measures that will enforce the use of longer passwords that will be required to change at regularly scheduled intervals.
