Mary Jo & Stephen Halligan

Hi, we are a husband and wife team both from Ireland. We arrived in the beautiful, well-being village of Hanmer Springs in 2009 and have been here pretty much since then. Hanmer has opened it’s arms to us, nurtured and supported us to blossom as individuals and create our dream life, while surrounded by the abundance and delights of N.Z’s raw nature. While Steve was developing a passion and talent for mountain biking over our years here, I Mary Jo have been developing my skill set, qualifications and experiences in the Day Spa industry, Healing Arts and running dynamic ‘Transformational ~ Yoga Wellness & Detox Retreats.’

Our Background: After leaving Ireland in 96’ & 97’ we both lived in Jersey, Channel Island, U.K. for 10 years. Working in different jobs over the years there, we used it as a kind of spring board to travel back and forth to different places around the world including Asia, Australia and Central American. Our travel days have definitely given us a more global heart and perspective. We love meeting people from all over the world and from different backgrounds.

Travelling in Thailand and Indian influenced us to gain more insights and experiences into the various cultures, spiritual perspectives, yoga and massage. So much so that I Mary Jo trained and qualified in massage when I returned to the U.K. I have not stopped taking trainings and workshops in self empowered health, conscious living, yoga and wellness ever since.
