Page 2: INSPIRED BY VISITING MELBOURNE ZOO!

While Australia is full to the roof of animal lovers, unfortunately there are still some people in our community who treat animals cruelly. The

Melbourne Zoo is one of the zoos that are

committed to giving these animals all of the food,

water and space that they need .

Intro

Back in the olden days the cages were about as wide as a hallway and as long as a bathroom. They would also shove about 4 animals into that space. All the animals could do was stay in their cage with one toy and three meals a day. Sadly back then the zoo was mainly for the people …not the animals!

The importance of our animals

Animals are very important in our circle! Life would not work without them. From

my experiences at the zoo, I noticed how smart the

animals are. Look at how the otter swims, how the Tasmanian devil and the

wombats burrow, how the seals flip and how the lion

catch their prey.

No more circus tricks All over the world there

are zoos that use seals and dolphins as circus clowns they train them to do ridiculous tricks

just to get some humour out of it . You may think

that the animals are having a good time

doing tricks out there but they are really not. They would definitely

rather be down with the other seals and dolphins swimming around and

playing

Think about this

Imagine you were locked up in a cramped cage all day, every day with nothing to do.

And every week you would be forced to go out and utterly humiliate yourself in front of flashing cameras, beeping cell phones and laughing faces of children. It is not fair!

You can be the change

Melbourne Zoo has stopped using their

animals as trick masters and you can too. All you have to

do is

Think Learn
