Inspiring. Building. Transforming. Horizons at Sacred Heart University works steadfastly to change the lives of under-served students in the Bridgeport community. Horizons instills the joy of learning, teaches skills for success, and empowers its students to realize their dreams. It is our goal for each student to attend college and become a vital participant in Bridgeport as well as the broader global community.

Horizons SHU is a tuition-free, non-profit, academic enrichment program serving low-income Bridgeport students, grades K-6. The Horizons affiliate at Sacred Heart University was established in 2011 and has grown to serve over 150 students to date. We are a part of the award-winning Horizons national family, which consists of over 50 chapters and serves over 5,000 students annually. 

Through the Horizons award-winning model, we offer a holistic curriculum of reading, STEM, creative arts, social emotional learning, and athletics. This model builds a lifelong interest in learning.

Your support at our 1st Annual Golf Tournament will help us break this cycle of children caught in the achievement gap.
