WHAT IS INSTAGRAM?

Instagram is an online Photo and Video sharing social media network that allows

users to take pictures and videos (up to 15 seconds), apply pre-made filters to

those media and then share them on a variety of social networking services such

as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, etc

FEATURES:

Instagram takes images and video in a square format like old Polaroids unlike

modern day digital cameras which commonly use a ratio of 16:9, this gives them

a unique feel so people will know your using Instagram for the pictures and they

stand out a bit better from other photos shared online.

SOCIAL PRESENCE

Facebook bought Instagram because it created competition in the mobile market.

It did this by being a simple and accessible application that people can pick up

and go on. Facebooks mobile app requires sign in, has tons of games and junk all

over it that takes away from what Facebook is supposed to be: a picture sharing

website.

NETWORKING WITH INSTAGRAM

Instagram is a mobile app, it cannot be downloaded onto a desktop, which is fine

because why would you want it there? It integrates fluidly with social networking

sites because it has built in features that allow you to instantly share the pictures.

In other words the app knows you aren't taking pics for saving on your device,

they're being taken to share online through whatever social media services you

use.

Instagram works great for individuals because it applies filters without the person

having any knowledge of how to do this themselves. In other words you dont need

to bother with photo editing programs to add something a little extra to your pics.

CONCLUSION

Instagram's strength is that it is based on simplicity. It only work's on mobile

devices and has pre-made filters instead of a way to crate and edit your own. its

made for on the go, and the idea that the best camera is the one you have with

you. Instagram's strength is that it is easily shared over multiple social media

networks so people who use it will see immediate results.
