Follow these steps to add the Apogee Prepress Client to a Mac or PC workstation.Audience: Customer, Technical

Mac ClientLog on to the Apogee Prepress server. From the Mac desktop choose Go/Connect to Server.Type in smb:// followed by the IP address of the Apogee Prepress Server. Click Connect.Note: smb:// or cifs:// may be used to connect.

Enter a log-in name and password and click OK. From the pull-down menu choose Support Files. Navigate to the UISetups folder and copy the Mac DMG file to the Macintosh desktop.

Launch the installer by clicking on the icon. It is necessary to enter the Macintosh system password to begin the install.

Click Continue, select the destination drive if necessary, then click Continue. To install the plug-ins separately from the client, choose Custom Install.

Leave both boxes checked to install the client application and the Acrobat plug-ins. Click Install to begin.

When the installation is complete, click Quit to exit the installer.

Note: the Apogee Plug-Ins may be managed within Acrobat by selecting the application icon and choosing Get Info. Enable, disable, or remove the plug-ins from the info dialog box.

Add the Apogee Prepress icon to the launcher.

Windows ClientLog on to the Apogee Prepress server. From the network path (My Network Places) navigate to the Apogee Prepress Server, then open Support Files>UISetups>PC.

Double-click on Setup.exe to begin the install. When the install wizard starts, click Next to continue.

Accept the terms of the license agreement and click Next. Disable Platemaker and QMS unless these will be present on the PC where the client is being installed. Click Next.

By default, the application will install in C:\ProgramFiles\Agfa. Usually this is correct but it may be changed if necessary. Click OK, then click Next.

Click Install to begin the installation. Click Finish when complete.

Note: on Windows, the client installer will detect older Apogee Prepress (or ApogeeX) clients and overwrite them. On the Mac, multiple client versions may be installed if they are in different folders.

Note: Windows client requires Windows XP, Vista, 2003 or 2008. Mac client requires OS 10.4 or higher.

Launch the clientChoose Apogee Prepress from the dock on the Mac or double click on the desktop icon on the PC. Log on to the Apogee Prepress client.

To find out the version of the client installed, choose About Apogee Prepress from the Help menu.

Note: A newer client may be available. After verifying current version, check with Agfa technical support to verify the latest available client software.
