Upon completion you will receive the following message. Do not check the "Register" box

The first time you run Rhino after installation you will get a vray license error message.

Type in "vray.lic.rice.edu" for license server. Leave the default port number.

Click OK.

Configuring distributed rendering

When Distributed Rendering is turned on, other machines in your network can assist with your rendering, even with just a single frame. In Rhinogo to "Render----Current Renderer" and choose V-Ray.

Next, choose V-ray and then Options.

Enable asset collection

This allows any images etc. that are used by V-ray to be sent to each rendering host. This should be on to ensure the servers have access tothose resources.

Send to each node

The files are sent independently to each server. This is very reliable but can slow down the network, and can delay the start of the rendering onthe servers until they receive the files.

Settings

This is where you tell V-ray which hosts will be doing the rendering. Click "Add Server" to add a machine to the list. Type the computer name or IPaddress of that host, then click "Ok". Clicking "Resolve Servers" will tell V-ray to search for the machines in the list. If the machine is found its IPaddress is shown. Note that this does NOT mean that DR Spawner is running, just that the computer is on and has been located on the network.

V-Ray for Rhino Distributed Rendering

This describes how to configure V-Ray for Rhino for direct distributed rendering. This renders on your screen, using your machine as well asremote machines for additional processing power. Click the File then Save to save these settings.

Rendering

Once the V-Ray for Rhino Options settings are configured for distributed rendering and the Rhino "Render" selection is chosen, V-Ray will look tosee which rendering nodes are available; this takes 5-20 seconds usually and nothing will appear to be happening. Then the normal "RenderProgress" box will appear and the rendering will continue. The rendering is done is real time, as you wait; there is no queue. V-Ray for Rhino findsnodes that are available for rendering at that moment, sends the pieces ("buckets") to the nodes, and you see the results display on your screen;the pieces, as they fill in, report which node is processing them. You save the results as you normally do. The "Render Progress" log will showhow many nodes were involved in the render.

Then choose "Settings"Enter the following 18 host names
