Overview

AutoTrac Universal system requires the GreenStarsystem to operate. The two systems consist of thefollowing components:

• GreenStar– Receiver– Processor– Display– Harness

• AutoTrac Universal– AutoTrac Universal Steering Wheel– Shaft Bushing– AutoTrac Universal Harness– Anti-Rotational Device

The GreenStar System

This system consists of a receiver, a processor, and adisplay, connected by a harness. On the new GS2system, the display and processor are combined into asingle unit. The GreenStar system is the backbone formany processes such as recording harvest yields,setting planter and chemical application rates, andmapping acres covered. Because the GreenStarsystem is utilized by so many different processes, it is

sold separately from the AutoTrac Universal SteeringKit. Installation of the GreenStar system is dependenton the vehicle it is being installed on. Newer JohnDeere vehicles come with the harness alreadyinstalled.

AutoTrac Universal System

This system is an easy-to-install guidance system thatworks similar to the integrated system, but instead ofdirectly controlling the hydraulics that steer themachine, the AutoTrac Universal system turns thesteering wheel, guiding the machine using the samemechanisms that a person would.

Because AutoTrac Universal isn’t integrated into thesteering system:

• It is compatible with a large number of differentmachines. See your John Deere dealer for a list ofapproved platforms.

• Accuracy is affected by wear on any part of thesteering system.

Installation of the AutoTrac Universal system

Installation involves the following steps:

1. Remove the Steering Wheel.2. Attach Bushing3. Attach Anti-Rotational Device4. Attach AutoTrac Universal Steering Wheel to

The steering wheel should be removed following theprocess set by the manufacturer of the machine. Thehardware shown is specific to John Deere tractors.Depending on the machine, the hardware attaching thesteering wheel may be different. Save hardware and use itto attach the AutoTrac Universal Steering Wheel. Saveoriginal steering wheel to use if AutoTrac Universal isremoved from machine.

A—BushingB—Snap Ring

A range of bushings have been created to allow theAutoTrac Universal Steering Wheel to fit on shafts thatvary in style and dimension. Select the proper bushingand insert it into the AutoTrac Universal steering wheel.Attaching the bushing with a snap ring. For vehiclespecific information visit www.StellarSupport.com.

NOTE: Be sure that the hole for lock washer is facingtowards steering wheel before securing snap ring.

Lubricate bushing before installation to preventcorrosion.

Attach Anti-Rotational Devices

There are different types of anti-rotational devices.

Make sure that you are using the proper type ofanti-rotational device AND the correct design specific toyour machine.

(1) Clamp and Rod Anti-Rotational Device

IMPORTANT: To allow steering wheel to telescopenormally, install assembly (A) neartop end of steering column asshown in diagram.

1. Attach U-bolt, saddle, spacer, pillow-block and nuts(A) near top of steering shaft base.

2. Attach anti-rotation rod assembly (B) to bottom ofsteering unit base plate with screws (C).

3. Attach cover (D) to steering unit assembly withscrew (E).

4. Attach steering unit to vehicle steering shaft byinserting rod (B) into pillow-block assembly andpressing ball plunger on rod to allow it to passthrough.

Shims

A—Anti-Rotation Bracket B—Steering Unit C—Screw (2 Used)

(2) Console Anti-Rotation Device

Attach anti-rotation bracket (A) to steering unit (B) withscrews (C). Use slots to move bracket snug againstcolumn. When using Console Anti-Rotation Device,shims may be required to eliminate movement in thevehicle’s steering console. Shims should only be used

if optimal performance can not be attained throughchanges in the vehicle sensitivity settings.

IMPORTANT: Use of shims will eliminate theability of the steering column totelescope.

Position AutoTrac Universal steering wheel on steeringcolumn. The hardware shown is specific to John Deeretractors. The hardware attaching the AutoTrac Universalsteering wheel may be different. Use hardware from theremoval of the original steering wheel to attach theAutoTrac Universal steering wheel.

IMPORTANT: Tighten all hardware to proper torqueaccording to vehicle manufacturer’sspecifications.

1. Attach lock washer (A), and nut (B) to steering wheelrod.

2. Attach washer (C), knob (D), washer (E), and nut (F)on telescoping rod.

3. Insert cap (G) into knob.

Routing and Installation View

A—CAN Bus ExtensionB—Implement Connector

Depending on your vehicle’s harness configuration, theAutoTrac Universal harness will be connected to theGreenStar harness at one of the following locations:

GreenStar Ready Vehicles

Vehicles that are GreenStar Ready (or vehicles that haveGreenStar harnesses already installed) can be connectedat one of the following locations:

• 2- and 4- pin terminator connectors found at the CANbus extension (A) in the side console of a GreenStarReady tractor.

• If equipped with an Implement Connector the AutoTracUniversal harness can be connected at the 2- and 4-pin connectors on the implement connector (B).

NOTE: FOR TRACTORS EQUIPPED WITH A TECU:Implement connector can not be used as thesource of the 2-pin power on machines equippedwith TECU.

In NA, SA and AU—Order a ’2-pin toConvenience Outlet adapter harness (PF80873)’from Service Parts. A second adapter harness(RE67015) can also be purchased from ServiceParts to obtain power from a power strip.

In Europe—Order a ’2-pin to COBO Outletadapter harness (PF80874)’ from Service Parts.

PF80873 and PF80874 plugs into the 2-pinconnector on the ATU harness.

• If the platform already has a GreenStar Harness, the2-pin and 4-pin connectors on the ATU harness can beconnected to the terminator connectors as shown onnext page.

Non-GreenStar Ready Vehicles

• Vehicles which are adding the GreenStar harness forthe first time can connect directly into the GreenStarharness at the 2- and 4- pin terminator connectors.

NOTE: Depending upon the type of harness encountered,the size and color of the terminators may vary.

NOTE: For John Deere Tractors equipped with anelectronic seat switch, operator should connectinto this switch as a mode of operatorpresence detection. Operators with othervehicles may be required to select “ActivityMonitor” under Setup - AutoTrac and will haveto interact regularly with the system in order tokeep AutoTrac engaged. Gotowww.StellarSupport.com for platform specificinformation relating to your specific vehicle.

1. To connect seat switch, begin by connecting seatswitch harness 4-pin round connector (A) toAutoTrac Universal harness 4-pin round connector(B).

2. Connect seat switch harness connector to seatswitch. This harness includes two sets ofconnectors, use only the set of connectors thatcorresponds with the vehicle’s seat switch.Disregard the unused set.

NOTE: Seat Switch is found on lower backside of theseat.

In order to prevent interference with operator and cabcontrols secure and route harnesses with the providedadhesive clips.

1. Thoroughly clean surface with JD All-Purpose Cleaner(TY25683) and dry completely before attachingadhesive clips.

2. After removing protective film on the clips, press andhold the clips to the surface for at least 30 seconds toensure proper adhesion.

3. Securely lock all harnesses into clips leaving enoughslack for the steering wheel to telescope.

No ATU Activation, ATU has not been activated. Enter an activationcode below or disconnect the ATU unit to access the GreenStar 2

Pro Application.

AutoTrac Universal has to be activated by a 3-digitactivation code the first time that it is powered up. Thecode can be attained by visitingwww.StellarSupport.com or your local dealer.

IMPORTANT: AutoTrac Universal serial numberwill be required to obtain activationcode.

After obtaining activation code, power up AutoTracUniversal, enter the 3 digit activation code, and pressSUBMIT.

NOTE: Activation code may come with leading zeroesthat do not need to be to entered.

Theory of Operation

The ATU Auxiliary Resume Switch assembly wasdesigned to allow ATU operators the ability to resumeAutoTrac operation using a switch that can be mounted ina suitable location in the cab or operator’s station. Theswitch cover can either be mounted directly to a rigidsurface or can be disassembled to allow panel mounting.

Auxiliary Resume Switch

A—SwitchB—Front CaseC—Rear CaseD—Screws that hold Case Together (4 Used)E—Bolts that connect Case to Vehicle (2 Used)

Switch Cover Direct Mounting:

1. Find a suitable location in the cab or operator’s stationfor the assembly to be mounted that will be out of theway of normal vehicle operation.

NOTE: Harnessing will also need to be routed so it doesnot interfere with any vehicle functions performedby the operator.

Use clips provided to secure harnesses.

2. Mark and drill pilot holes using a 5mm (3/16’) drill bitfor each of the two mounting holes in the assembly.

IMPORTANT: Use caution when drilling into a panelso that hidden wires or controls are notdamaged.

3. Attach the assembly using the screws provided andensure the assembly is rigid.

4. Connect the harness to the ATU harness at the 9-pinround connector.

5. Test switch functionality using the ATU diagnosticscreens to ensure proper operation.

NOTE: The switch direction can be changed bydisassembling the plastic enclosure and flippingthe switch mount direction if necessary.

Panel Mounting:

1. Find a suitable panel mount location in the cab oroperator’s station for the switch that will be out of theway of normal vehicle operation.

NOTE: Harnessing will also need to be routed so it doesnot interfere with any vehicle functions performedby the operator.

Use clips provided to secure harnesses.

2. Disassemble the switch from the plastic enclosure byremoving the (4) screws.

3. Re-assemble plastic switch enclosure and use holewhere switch was as a guide for making hole in nextstep.

4. Create the panel mount hole if not already created(22mm X 36.8mm rectangular hole).

5. Insert the switch into the panel mount.

NOTE: This may require disconnecting the harness fromthe switch.

6. Connect the harness to the ATU harness at the 9-Pinround connector.

7. Test switch functionality using the ATU diagnosticscreens to ensure proper operation.

Le systeme AutoTrac Universal necessite le systemeGreenStar pour fonctionner. Les deux systemescomprennent les composants suivants:

• GreenStar– Recepteur– Processeur– Console– Faisceau de fils

• AutoTrac Universal– Volant AutoTrac Universal– Bague d’arbre– Faisceau AutoTrac Universal– Dispositif antirotation

Le systeme GreenStar

Ce systeme consiste en un recepteur, un processeuret une console connectes par un faisceau de fils. Surle nouveau systeme GS2, la console et le processeursont combines en une seule unite. Le systemeGreenStar est l’epine dorsale de nombreux processustels que l’enregistrement des rendements de recolte, lereglage des taux d’ensemencement et d’application deproduits chimiques ainsi que la cartographie de lasuperficie couverte. Parce que le systeme GreenStar

est utilise par tant de processus differents, il est venduseparement du kit de direction AutoTrac Universal.L’installation du systeme GreenStar depend duvehicule concerne. Les vehicules John Deere recentscomprennent deja le faisceau de fils.

Systeme AutoTrac Universal

Ce systeme est un systeme de guidage facile ainstaller qui fonctionne similairement au systemeintegre mais, au lieu de controler directement lescommandes hydrauliques qui dirigent la machine, lesysteme AutoTrac Universal tourne le volant et guidela machine en utilisant les memes mecanismes qu’unepersonne.

Parce que AutoTrac Universal n’est pas integre dansle systeme de direction:

• Il est compatible avec un grand nombre demachines differentes. Consulter le concessionnaireJohn Deere pour obtenir une liste des plates-formesapprouvees.

• L’usure de toute piece du systeme de direction a unimpact sur la precision.

1. Fixer l’etrier filete, la selle, la piece d’ecartement, lepalier a semelle et les ecrous (A) vers le haut de labase de l’arbre de direction.

2. Fixer la tige antirotation (B) au bas de la plaque dela base de l’unite de direction a l’aide des vis (C).

Fixer le support antirotation (A) a l’unite de direction(B) a l’aide des vis (C). Se servir des fentes pourserrer le support contre la colonne. Pour eviter de gener les commandes de l’operateur et dela cabine, fixer et acheminer les faisceaux avec les clipsadhesifs fournis.

1. Nettoyer minutieusement la surface avec de l’agent denettoyage universel JD (TY25683) et sechercompletement avant de fixer les clips adhesifs.

2. Enlever le film protecteur des clips et appuyer sansrelacher les clips sur la surface pendant au moins 30secondes pour assurer une bonne adhesion.

3. Bien verrouiller tous les faisceaux dans les clips enlaissant assez de mou pour que le volant puisseeffectuer son mouvement telescopique.

Principes de fonctionnement

Montage direct du couvercle de l’interrupteur:

1. Trouver un endroit dans la cabine ou le poste deconduite convenant au montage de l’ensemble, al’ecart de la zone de fonctionnement normal duvehicule.

NOTE: De plus, les faisceaux doivent etre achemines demaniere a ne gener aucun geste de l’operateur.

Retenir les faisceaux par des clips.

2. Pointer et percer des trous pilotes a l’aide d’un foret de5 mm (3/16") pour les deux trous de montage del’ensemble.

IMPORTANT: Faire preuve de prudence lors dupercage des panneaux pour ne pasendommager les fils ou commandescaches.

3. Fixer l’ensemble a l’aide des vis fournies en veillant ace qu’il n’y ait pas de jeu.

4. Relier le faisceau au faisceau ATU au niveau duconnecteur rond a 9 broches.

5. S’assurer du bon fonctionnement de l’interrupteur parle biais des ecrans de diagnostic ATU.

NOTE: Si necessaire, il est possible d’inverser le sens demontage de l’interrupteur en enlevant le boıtier enplastique et en retournant la monture.

Montage sur panneau:

1. Trouver un endroit de montage sur panneau convenanta l’interrupteur dans la cabine ou le poste de conduite,a l’ecart de la zone de fonctionnement normal duvehicule.

NOTE: De plus, les faisceaux doivent etre achemines demaniere a ne gener aucun geste de l’operateur.

Retenir les faisceaux par des clips.

2. Separer l’interrupteur de son boıtier en plastique enenlevant les (4) vis.

3. Reassembler le boıtier en plastique de l’interrupteur etse baser sur le trou ou se trouvait l’interrupteur pourfaire le trou de l’etape suivante.

4. Si ce n’est pas deja fait, effectuer le trou de montagesur le panneau (trou rectangulaire de 22 x 36,8 mm).

Uberblick

Damit das AutoTrac-Universal-System funktionierenkann, muß das GreenStar-System eingebaut sein. Diebeiden Systeme bestehen aus den folgendenKomponenten:

• GreenStar– Empfanger– Rechner– Display– Kabelbaum

• AutoTrac Universal– AutoTrac-Universal-Lenkrad– Lagerbuchse– AutoTrac-Universal-Kabelbaum– Drehsperrvorrichtung

Das GreenStar-System

Das System besteht aus einem Empfanger, einemRechner und einem Display, die durch einenKabelbaum miteinander verbunden sind. Bei demneuen GS2-System sind Display und Rechner in einerEinheit vereint. Das GreenStar-System ist dieZentraleinheit fur viele Prozesse, wie z. B. dieAufzeichnung von Ernteertragen, die Einstellung derSagerat-Anwendungsrate und Chemikalien-Ausbringungsrate sowie die Kartierung der

bearbeiteten Flache. Da das GreenStar-System von sovielen verschiedenen Prozessen verwendet wird,erfolgt der Verkauf getrennt vom AutoTrac-Universal-Lenksatz. Der Einbau des GreenStar-Systems hangtvom Fahrzeug ab, in das es eingebaut wird. Beineueren John Deere-Fahrzeugen ist der Kabelbaumbereits eingebaut.

AutoTrac-Universal-System

Bei diesem System handelt es sich um ein leichteinzubauendes Leitsystem, das ahnlich funktioniert wiedas integrierte System, doch steuert das AutoTrac-Universal-System die Hydraulik, die die Maschinelenkt, nicht direkt, sondern es dreht das Lenkrad undleitet die Maschine mit Hilfe derselben Mechanismen,die der Fahrer verwendet.

Da AutoTrac Universal nicht in das Lenksystemintegriert ist:

• ist es mit einer großen Anzahl verschiedenerMaschinen kompatibel. Beim John Deere-Handler isteine Liste der zugelassenen Modelle erhaltlich.

• wird die Genauigkeit durch den Verschleiß der Teiledes Lenksystems beeinflußt.

Das Lenkrad sollte gemaß den vom Maschinenherstellervorgegebenen Verfahren ausgebaut werden. Diedargestellten Befestigungsteile sind in John Deere-Traktoren eingebaut. Je nach Maschine konnen sich dieBefestigungsteile fur das Lenkrad davon unterscheiden.Die Befestigungsteile aufbewahren und zur Befestigungdes AutoTrac-Universal-Lenkrads verwenden. Dasursprungliche Lenkrad aufbewahren, damit es bei einemAusbau von AutoTrac Universal aus der Maschine wiederverwendet werden kann.

WICHTIG: Um die normale Teleskopfunktion desLenkrads zu ermoglichen, dieBaugruppe (A) wie in der Abbildungveranschaulicht nahe dem oberen Endeder Lenksaule einbauen.

1. Den U-Bolzen, den Sattel, das Distanzstuck, denLagerbock und die Muttern (A) nahe dem oberenEnde der Lenkwellenbasis befestigen.

2. Die Drehsperrstangen-Baugruppe (B) mit denSchrauben (C) an der Unterseite der Lenkeinheit-Tragplatte befestigen.

3. Die Abdeckung (D) mit der Schraube (E) an derLenkeinheit-Baugruppe anbringen.

(2) Konsolen-Drehsperrvorrichtung

Die Drehsperrhalterung (A) mit den Schrauben (C) ander Lenkeinheit (B) anbringen. Die Halterung unterVerwendung der Schlitze satt anliegend gegen dieSaule ziehen. Bei Verwendung der Konsolen-Drehsperrvorrichtung sind moglicherweiseDistanzscheiben erforderlich, um Spiel in derLenkkonsole des Fahrzeugs zu beseitigen. Die

Distanzscheiben sollten nur verwendet werden, wennkeine optimale Leistung durch Anderungen in denEmpfindlichkeitseinstellungen des Fahrzeugs erzieltwerden kann.

WICHTIG: Bei Verwendung von Distanzscheibenkann die Teleskopfunktion derLenksaule nicht mehr verwendetwerden.

Je nach Kabelbaumkonfiguration des Fahrzeugs wird derAutoTrac-Universal-Kabelbaum an einer der folgendenStellen an den GreenStar-Kabelbaum angeschlossen:

Fur GreenStar vorbereitete Fahrzeuge

Fahrzeuge, die fur GreenStar vorbereitet sind (bzw.Fahrzeuge, in denen bereits ein GreenStar-Kabelbaumeingebaut ist) konnen an einer der folgenden Stellenangeschlossen werden:

• 2- und 4-Stift-Abschlußsteckverbinder an der CAN-Bus-Verlangerung (A) in der Seitenkonsole eines furGreenStar vorbereiteten Traktors.

• Falls eine Anbaugerat-Steckdose vorhanden ist, kannder AutoTrac-Universal-Kabelbaum an den 2- und 4-Stift-Steckverbindern der Anbaugerat-Steckdose (B)angeschlossen werden.

In Europa—Einen Adapterkabelbaum(PF80874) von 2-Stift-Anschluß zu COBO-Anschluß beim Ersatzteildienst bestellen.

PF80873 und PF80874 werden an den 2-Stift-Steckverbinder des ATU-Kabelbaumsangeschlossen.

• Wenn das Modell bereits uber einen GreenStar-Kabelbaum verfugt, konnen der 2-Stift- und der 4-Stift-Steckverbinder des ATU-Kabelbaums wie auf derfolgenden Seite dargestellt an dieAbschlußsteckverbinder angeschlossen werden.

1. Zum Anschluß des Sitzschalters zunachst denrunden 4-Stift-Steckverbinder (A) des Sitzschalters

an den runden 4-Stift-Steckverbinder (B) desAutoTrac-Universal-Kabelbaums anschließen.

2. Den Sitzschalter-Kabelbaumsteckverbinder amSitzschalter anschließen. Dieser Kabelbaum verfugtuber zwei Satz Steckverbinder; nur den SatzSteckverbinder verwenden, der dem Sitzschalterdes Fahrzeugs entspricht. Den nicht verwendetenSatz außer Acht lassen.

HINWEIS: Der Sitzschalter befindet sich unten auf derSitzruckseite.

3. Nicht verwendete Steckverbinder ineinanderstecken, um sie vor Staub zu schutzen.

Um Behinderungen der Fahrer- undKabinenbedienelemente zu verhuten, die Kabelbaume mitden mitgelieferten selbstklebenden Klemmen sichern undverlegen.

1. Die Oberflache grundlich mit JD-Allzweckreiniger(TY25683) reinigen und vollkommen trocknen lassen,bevor die selbstklebenden Klemmen angebrachtwerden.

2. Nach dem Entfernen des Schutzfilms der Klemmendiese mindestens 30 Sekunden lang an die Oberflacheangedruckt halten, um eine gute Haftung zugewahrleisten.

3. Alle Kabelbaume sicher in den Klemmen befestigen,wobei ausreichend Durchhang fur die Teleskopfunktiondes Lenkrads zu belassen ist.

Keine ATU-Aktivierung, ATU wurde nicht aktiviert. Geben Sienachstehend einen Aktivierungscode ein oder nehmen Sie das ATU-

Gerat ab, um auf die GreenStar 2 Pro-Anwendung zugreifen zukonnen.

AutoTrac Universal muß beim ersten Einschaltendurch einen 3-stelligen Aktivierungscode aktiviertwerden. Dieser Code ist unter www.StellarSupport.comoder vom Vertragshandler erhaltlich.

WICHTIG: Die AutoTrac-Universal-Seriennummerist erforderlich, um denAktivierungscode zu erhalten.

Nach Erhalt des Aktivierungscodes AutoTrac Universaleinschalten, den 3-stelligen Aktivierungscode eingebenund SUBMIT (Senden) drucken.

HINWEIS: Der Aktivierungscode weist moglicherweisevorangestellte Nullen auf, die nichteingegeben werden mussen.

Direkte Montage der Schalterabdeckung:

1. Eine geeignete Stelle fur die zu montierendeBaugruppe in der Kabine oder an derBedienungsstation ausfindig machen, an der dernormale Fahrzeugbetrieb nicht behindert wird.

HINWEIS: Die Kabelbaume mussen ebenfalls so verlegtwerden, daß sie die vom Fahrer bedientenFahrzeugfunktionen nicht behindern.

Die mitgelieferten Klemmen verwenden, umdie Kabelbaume zu sichern.

2. Mit Hilfe eines 5 mm (3/16 in.) Bohrers Fuhrungslocherfur beide Befestigungslocher in der Baugruppemarkieren und bohren.

WICHTIG: Beim Bohren in ein Armaturenbrettvorsichtig vorgehen, damit verdeckteDrahte oder Bedienungselemente nichtbeschadigt werden.

3. Die Baugruppe mit Hilfe der mitgelieferten Schraubenanbringen und sicherstellen, daß sie fest sitzt.

4. Den Kabelbaum am 9-poligen runden Steckverbinderdes ATU-Kabelbaums anschließen.

5. Mit Hilfe der ATU-Diagnose-Bildschirme prufen, ob derSchalter vorschriftsmaßig funktioniert.

HINWEIS: Die Schalterrichtung kann bei Bedarf geandertwerden, indem das Kunststoffgehauseauseinandergebaut und dieSchaltermontagerichtung umgekehrt wird.

Montage am Armaturenbrett:

1. Eine geeignete Stelle fur die Montage des Schaltersam Armaturenbrett in der Kabine oder an derBedienungsstation ausfindig machen, an der dernormale Fahrzeugbetrieb nicht behindert wird.

HINWEIS: Hierzu muß moglicherweise der Kabelbaumvom Schalter abgenommen werden.

6. Den Kabelbaum am 9-poligen runden Steckverbinderdes ATU-Kabelbaums anschließen.

7. Mit Hilfe der ATU-Diagnose-Bildschirme prufen, ob derSchalter vorschriftsmaßig funktioniert.

Descrizione generale

Per funzionare, il sistema AutoTrac Universal richiedeil sistema GreenStar. I due sistemi consistono deiseguenti componenti:

• GreenStar– Ricevitore– Processore– Display– Cavo

• AutoTrac Universal– Volante AutoTrac Universal– Boccola dell’albero– Cavo AutoTrac Universal– Dispositivo antirotazione

Sistema GreenStar

Il sistema e composto da un ricevitore, un processoree un display collegati da un cavo. Nella piu recenteversione GS2, il display e il processore costituisconouna sola unita. Il sistema GreenStar e alla base dinumerose operazioni, come la registrazione delle resedel raccolto, l’impostazione della piantatrice e dellevelocita di applicazione delle sostanze chimiche, e lamappatura degli acri lavorati. Proprio per il vasto

numero di applicazioni a cui si presta, il sistemaGreenStar viene venduto separatamente dal kit delmodulo di sterzo AutoTrac Universal. Le modalita diinstallazione variano secondo il veicolo su cui saraadoperato. Nei veicoli John Deere piu recenti il cavo egia installato.

Sistema AutoTrac Universal

E un sistema di guida di facile installazione chefunziona in modo analogo al sistema integrato, mainvece di comandare direttamente l’impianto idraulicodello sterzo della macchina gira il volante, guidando lamacchina mediante gli stessi meccanismi chesarebbero usati dall’operatore.

Poiche AutoTrac Universal non e integrato nel sistemadi sterzo:

• e compatibile con un’ampia gamma di macchine –rivolgersi al concessionario John Deere per unelenco delle macchine approvate;

• la precisione dipende dalle buone condizioni di ognisingolo componente del sistema di sterzo.

Fissare la staffa antirotazione (A) all’unita sterzo (B)mediante le viti (C). Usare le scanalature per spostarela staffa finche fa battuta contro il piantone. Quando siusa il dispositivo antirotazione su consolle, possonoessere necessari spessori per eliminare movimenti

nella consolle dello sterzo; occorre adoperarli soloquando non si riesce a ottenere prestazioni ottimaliregolando la sensibilita del veicolo.

IMPORTANTE: l’uso di spessori elimina lafunzionalita telescopica delpiantone.

I veicoli predisposti per GreenStar (o nei quali i caviGreenStar sono gia installati) possono essere collegati inuno dei seguenti punti:

• Connettori del terminatore a 2 e 4 contatti presenti sullaprolunga del bus CAN (A), sulla consolle laterale di untrattore predisposto per GreenStar.

• Se e presente un connettore attrezzo, si puo collegare ilcavo AutoTrac Universal ai connettori a 2 e 4 contattisul connettore stesso (B).

NOTA: SUI TRATTORI EQUIPAGGIATI CON UN TECU:non si puo adoperare il connettore dell’attrezzocome sorgente dell’alimentazione a 2 contatti sullemacchine dotate di un TECU.

In N.A., S.A. e AU—Ordinare un cavo adattatorepresa ausiliaria - 2 contatti (PF80873) presso ilservizio ricambi. Presso il servizio ricambi epossibile ordinare anche un secondo cavoadattatore (RE67015) da collegare a una presamultipla.

In Europa—Ordinare un cavo adattatore presaausiliaria COBO - 2 contatti (PF80874) presso ilservizio ricambi.

I cavi PF80873 e PF80874 si collegano alconnettore a 2 contatti del cavo ATU.

• Se la piattaforma e gia equipaggiata con il cavoGreenStar, i connettori a 2 e a 4 contatti del cavo ATUpossono essere collegati ai connettori del terminatore,come indicato nella pagina seguente.

1. Per collegare l’interruttore del sedile, iniziarecollegando il connettore cilindrico a 4 contattidell’interruttore del sedile (A) al connettore cilindricoa 4 contatti del cavo AutoTrac Universal (B).

2. Collegare il connettore del cavo dell’interruttore delsedile all’interruttore stesso. Questo cavo ha dueserie di connettori; usare solo quella corrispondenteall’interruttore del sedile e gettare via quellainutilizzata.

NOTA: l’interruttore e situato sulla parte posteriore delsedile, in basso.

3. collegare tra di loro i connettori non usati, perproteggerli dalla polvere.

Per impedire che i cavi siano di intralcio all’operatore oche possano ostacolare i comandi nella cabina, collocarliadeguatamente e fissarli mediante le fascette adesive indotazione.

1. Pulire bene le superfici con il detergente universaleJohn Deere TY25683 e asciugarle completamenteprima di fissare le fascette adesive.

2. Una volta rimossa la pellicola protettiva dalle fascette,premerle e mantenerle premute sulla superficie peralmeno 30 secondi, per accertarsi che aderiscanobene.

3. Fissare bene tutti i cavi con le fascette, lasciando giocosufficiente per la regolazione telescopica del volante.

Interruttore di ripresa ausiliario

Fissaggio diretto della scatola dell’interruttore

1. Individuare un punto adatto nella cabina o presso lapostazione dell’operatore in cui fissare la scatola, chenon ostacoli le normali operazioni sul veicolo.

NOTA: occorre anche posare il cavo in modo che nonostacoli nessuna operazione da partedell’operatore.

Usare le fascette in dotazione per fissare il cavo.

2. Contrassegnare l’ubicazione delle due viti di fissaggiodella scatola e praticare fori di guida con una punta datrapano di 5 mm (3/16).

IMPORTANTE: procedere con cautela quando sieseguono fori in un pannello, per nondanneggiare ne cavi ne comandi nonvisibili.

3. Fissare il gruppo mediante le viti in dotazione eaccertarsi che sia rigido.

4. Collegare il cavo al cavo dell’ATU mediante ilconnettore cilindrico a 9 contatti.

5. Verificare il funzionamento dell’interruttore tramite leschermate diagnostiche dell’ATU.

NOTA: se necessario si puo cambiare l’orientamentodell’interruttore smontandone la scatola e girandol’interruttore di 180 gradi.

Fissaggio a pannello

1. Individuare un punto adatto del pannello nella cabina opresso la postazione dell’operatore in cui fissare lascatola, che non ostacoli le normali operazioni sulveicolo.

NOTA: occorre anche posare il cavo in modo che nonostacoli nessuna operazione da partedell’operatore.

Usare le fascette in dotazione per fissare il cavo.

2. Smontare la scatola dell’interruttore estraendo lequattro viti.

3. Montare la scatola e utilizzare il foro in cui si trovaval’interruttore come guida per praticare il foro specificatoal punto successivo.

Visao Geral

O sistema do AutoTrac Universal exige o sistemaGreenStar para funcionar. Os dois sistemas consistemdos seguintes componentes:

O Sistema GreenStar

Esse sistema consiste de um receptor, umprocessador e um mostrador conectados por umchicote. No novo sistema GS2, o mostrador e oprocessador sao integrados em uma unica unidade. Osistema GreenStar e a espinha dorsal de muitosprocessos como a gravacao de rendimentos decolheita, configuracoes da plantadeira, taxas deaplicacao de produtos quımicos e a area em acrescoberta no mapa. Como o sistema GreenStar e

utilizado por varios processos diferentes, ele e vendidoseparadamente do Kit de Direcao do AutoTracUniversal. A instalacao do sistema GreenStar dependedo veıculo em que esta sendo colocado. Os veıculosJohn Deere mais novos vem com o chicote jainstalado.

Sistema AutoTrac Universal

Esse e um sistema de orientacao facil de instalar quefunciona similarmente ao sistema integrado mas, emvez de controlar diretamente os componenteshidraulicos que viram a maquina, o sistema AutoTracUniversal gira o volante guiando a maquina usando osmesmos mecanismos que uma pessoa usaria.

Como o AutoTrac Universal nao e integrado aosistema de direcao:

2. Fixe o conjunto da haste anti-rotacao (B) na parteinferior da chapa da base da unidade de direcaocom parafusos (C).

Fixe o suporte anti-rotativo (A) na unidade de direcao(B) com os parafusos (C). Use as fendas para movero suporte justo contra a coluna. Veıculos prontos para o GreenStar (ou veıculos que jatem o chicote do GreenStar instalado) podem serconectados em um dos seguintes locais:

• Conectores do terminador de 2 e 4 pinos encontradosna extensao do Barramento CAN (A) no lado de umconsole de um trator Pronto para o GreenStar.

• Se equipado com um Conector de Implemento, ochicote do AutoTrac Universal pode ser conectado nosconectores de 2 e 4 pinos do conector do implemento(B).

NOTA: PARA TRATORES EQUIPADOS COM TECU: Oconector do implemento nao pode ser usadocomo uma fonte de alimentacao de 2 pinos emmaquinas equipadas com TECU.

Na NA, SA e AU—Encomende um ’chicoteadaptador da tomada de conveniencia de 2 pinos(PF80873)’ do Servico de Pecas. Pode-se adquirirum segundo chicote adaptador (RE67015) doServico de Pecas para obter potencia de umbloco de tomadas.

Na Europa —Encomende um ’chicote adaptadorda tomada COBO de 2 pinos (PF80874)’ doServico de Pecas.

PF80873 e PF80874 se acoplam ao conector de2 pinos do chicote da ATU.

• Se a plataforma ja tiver um chicote do GreenStar, osconectores de 2 e 4 pinos do chicote da ATU podemser acoplados aos conectores do terminador comoexibido na proxima pagina.

1. Limpe cuidadosamente a superfıcie com LimpadorMultiuso JD (TY25683) e seque totalmente antes defixar as presilhas adesivas.

2. Apos remover o filme protetor das presilhas, pressionee segure-as na superfıcie por pelo menos 30 segundospara garantir a adesao adequada.

Montagem Direta da Tampa do Interruptor:

1. Encontre um local adequado na cabine ou estacao dooperador para que o conjunto seja montado fora docaminho normal de operacao do veıculo.

NOTA: Os chicotes tambem precisarao ser passados demodo que nao interfiram com as funcoes doveıculo executadas pelo operador.

Use as presilhas fornecidas para fixar os chicotes.

2. Marque e faca os furos piloto usando uma broca de 5mm (3/16) para cada um dos dois furos de montagemdo conjunto.

IMPORTANTE: Tome cuidado ao furar o painel paraque os fios ou controles ocultos naosejam danificados.

3. Fixe o conjunto usando os parafusos fornecidos ecertifique-se de que o conjunto esteja rıgido.

4. Conecte o chicote ao chicote da ATU no conectorredondo de 9 pinos.

5. Teste a funcionalidade do interruptor usando as telasde diagnostico da ATU para garantir a operacaocorreta.

NOTA: A direcao do interruptor pode ser alteradadesmontando o compartimento plastico emudando a direcao de montagem do interruptor,se necessario.

Montagem do Painel:

5. Insira o interruptor no suporte do painel.

NOTA: Isso pode exigir a desconexao do chicote dointerruptor.

6. Conecte o chicote ao chicote da ATU no conectorredondo de 9 pinos.

7. Teste a funcionalidade do interruptor usando as telasde diagnostico da ATU para garantir a operacaocorreta.

Descripcion general

Este sistema consiste en un receptor, un procesador yuna pantalla conectados por un arnes de alambrado.En el nuevo sistema GS2, la pantalla y el procesadorse combinan en una unidad. El sistema GreenStar esel corazon de muchos de los procesos, tales como elregistro de datos de cosecha, el ajuste de las dosis deaplicacion de productos quımicos y de siembra y eltrazado de mapas de tierra laborada. Ya que elsistema GreenStar es utilizado por tantos procesos

diferentes, el mismo se vende por separado y no juntocon el juego de direccion AutoTrac Universal. Lamanera de instalacion del sistema GreenStar dependedel vehıculo involucrado. Los vehıculos John Deeremas recientes vienen con el arnes de alambrado yainstalado.

Sistema AutoTrac Universal

Colocar el volante de la direccion AutoTrac Universal enla columna de direccion. La tornillerıa ilustrada es para lostractores John Deere. La tornillerıa que sujeta el volantede la direccion AutoTrac Universal puede diferir. Usar loselementos de tornillerıa retirados del volante de ladireccion original para instalar el volante de la direccionAutoTrac Universal.

IMPORTANTE: Apretar toda la tornillerıa al valorespecificado por el fabricante delvehıculo.

1. Colocar la arandela de seguridad (A) y la tuerca (B) enla varilla del volante de la direccion.

2. Fijar la arandela (C), la perilla (D), la arandela (E) y latuerca (F) en la varilla telescopica.

3. Insertar la tapa (G) en la perilla.

Vista de colocacion e instalacion

Segun la configuracion de arnes del vehıculo, el arnes deAutoTrac Universal se conectara al arnes de GreenStaren uno de los siguientes lugares:

Vehıculos listos para GreenStar

Los vehıculos que estan listos para GreenStar (o losvehıculos que ya tienen los arneses de GreenStarinstalados) se pueden conectar en uno de los siguienteslugares:

• Conectores terminadores de 2 y 4 clavijas ubicados enla extension del bus de CAN (A) en la consola lateralde un tractor listo para GreenStar.

• Si esta equipado con un conector de apero, el arnes deAutoTrac Universal se puede conectar en losconectores de 2 y 4 clavijas del conector de apero (B).

NOTA: PARA TRACTORES EQUIPADOS CON TECU: Elconector del apero no puede usarse como lafuente de energıa de dos clavijas en las maquinasequipadas con una TECU.

En Norteamerica, Suramerica y Australia—Pedirun ’Arnes adaptador de 2 clavijas a tomacorrientepara accesorios (PF80873)’ del sistema dedistribucion de piezas de repuesto. Tambien esposible comprar otro arnes adaptador (RE67015)del sistema de distribucion de piezas de repuestopara obtener la energıa de una regleta dealimentacion.

En Europa—Pedir un ’Arnes adaptador de 2clavijas a tomacorriente COBO (PF80874)’ delsistema de distribucion de piezas de repuesto.

Los PF80873 y PF80874 se enchufan en elconector de 2 clavijas del arnes de ATU.

• Si la maquina ya tiene un arnes GreenStar, losconectores de 2 clavijas y 4 clavijas en el arnes deATU pueden conectarse a los conectores terminadores,tal como se ilustra en la pagina siguiente.

NOTA: En los tractores de John Deere equipados conun interruptor de asiento electronico, eloperador debe hacer una conexion a esteinterruptor como un metodo de deteccion de lapresencia del operador. Los operadores de losvehıculos que no tienen este interruptor deasiento electronico deben seleccionar el“Monitor de actividad” en Configuracion -AutoTrac y deben accionar los controles delsistema periodicamente para mantener elsistema AutoTrac funcionando. 1. Para conectar el interruptor del asiento, comenzarconectando el conector redondo de 4 clavijas del

arnes del interruptor del asiento (A) al conectorredondo de 4 clavijas del arnes de AutoTracUniversal (B).

2. Conectar el conector del arnes del interruptor delasiento al interruptor del asiento. Este arnes incluyedos juegos de conectores; usar unicamente eljuego de conectores que corresponde al interruptordel asiento del vehıculo. Desechar el juego noutilizado.

NOTA: El interruptor del asiento se halla en el ladotrasero inferior del asiento del vehıculo.

A fin de impedir la interferencia con el operador y loscontroles de la cabina, fijar y colocar los arneses con laspinzas con adhesivo provistas.

1. Limpiar a fondo la superficie con limpiador universalJD (TY25683) y secar completamente antes de instalarlas pinzas con adhesivo.

2. Despues de retirar la pelıcula protectora de las pinzas,mantener presionadas las pinzas sobre la superficiedurante 30 segundos por lo menos para asegurar unaadhesion apropiada.

3. Trabar con seguridad todos los arneses en las pinzas,dejando suficiente juego para el movimientotelescopico del volante de la direccion.

Sin activacion de ATU, la unidad de ATU no ha sido activada.Introducir un codigo de activacion a continuacion o desconectar la

El sistema AutoTrac Universal se debe activar pormedio de un codigo de activacion de 3 dıgitos laprimera vez que se lo conecta. El codigo puedeobtenerse visitando www.stellarsupport.com o alconcesionario local.

IMPORTANTE: Se requerira el numero de serie delsistema AutoTrac Universal paraobtener el codigo de activacion.

Despues de obtener el codigo de activacion, encenderla unidad de AutoTrac Universal, introducir el codigode activacion de 3 dıgitos y pulsar Enviar.

Teorıa de funcionamiento

El conjunto de interruptor auxiliar de reanudar la ATU sediseno para permitir que los operadores de la ATUpuedan reanudar el funcionamiento del sistema AutoTracutilizando un interruptor que se pueda montar en un lugaradecuado en la cabina o en el puesto del operador. Lacubierta del interruptor se puede montar directamente auna superficie rıgida o bien se puede desarmar parapermitir el montaje en el panel.

Interruptor auxiliar de reanudar

Montaje directo de la cubierta del interruptor:

1. Encontrar una ubicacion adecuada en la cabina o en elpuesto del operador para el montaje del conjunto, peroque este fuera del paso durante la operacion normaldel vehıculo.

NOTA: Los arneses de alambrado tambien necesitaranser instalados de manera que no interfieran conlas funciones del operador del vehıculo.

Usar las presillas suministradas para asegurar losarneses de alambrado.

2. Marcar y perforar agujeros pilotos utilizando una brocade 5 mm (3/16 in.) para cada uno de los dos agujerosde montaje en el conjunto.

IMPORTANTE: Tener cuidado al perforar un panelpara evitar danar los alambres ocontroles no visibles.

3. Conectar el conjunto utilizando los tornillossuministrados y asegurarse que el conjunto quederıgido.

4. Conectar el arnes de alambrado al arnes dealambrado de la ATU en el conector redondo de 9clavijas.

5. Probar el funcionamiento del interruptor usando laspantallas de diagnostico de la ATU para asegurar sucorrecto funcionamiento.

NOTA: El sentido del interruptor se puede cambiardesarmando la caja de plastico e invirtiendo ladireccion de montaje del interruptor, de sernecesario.

Montaje en panel:

1. Encontrar una ubicacion adecuada en la cabina o en elpuesto del operador para el interruptor, de motor elmismo quede fuera del paso durante la operacionnormal del vehıculo.

3. Rearmar la caja de plastico del interruptor y usar elagujero donde estaba el interruptor como guıa parahacer el agujero en el proximo paso.

4. Crear el agujero de montaje del panel si no existiera(agujero rectangular de 22 mm X 36.8 mm).

5. Insertar el interruptor en el punto de montaje del panel.

NOTA: Esto puede requerir la desconexion del arnes dealambrado del interruptor.

6. Conectar el arnes de alambrado al arnes dealambrado de la ATU en el conector redondo de 9clavijas.

7. Probar el funcionamiento del interruptor usando laspantallas de diagnostico de la ATU para asegurar sucorrecto funcionamiento.
