STEP 1DRILLING THE DRAINAGE OUTLETS
DRILLING THE SIDE CONNEXTION WELL OPENING (IF REQUIRED)
AND/OR DRILLING THE VERTICAL CHANNEL OUTLET (IF REQUIRED)
1a. Using a hole saw, drill an opening
in order to install the vertical channel outlet.
1a. Using a concrete drill bit, drill small holes
following the guide which is appropriate
for your installation.
1b. Insert the vertical channel outlet above
the opening and seal.
1b. Using a cold chisel, clear the side con-
nection well opening.

STEP 2INSTALLATION
2c. Pour a concrete slab if the clearance be-
tween the base of the channel and the
bottom of the trench exceeds 125 mm
(5 in) and let it harden.
2d. Determinethefinalelevationlevelofthe
top of the corner bracket using a chalk
lineoralaserlevel.Thefinalelevation
level must be 3 mm to 5 mm (1/8 in to
3/16in)lowerthanthefinishedsurface.
2a. Dig the trench in accordance with
Table 1.
2b. Determine the outlet type: lateral for
side connection well, vertical for channel
or horizontal for the end of channel with
end plate with outlet used.

base in the concrete clump, until the angle cor-
ner reaches the desired level.
Method #1:
Place clumps of concrete having a consistent
texture against the channel joints.
Method #2:
Add concrete pavers or bricks against the
channel joints. Embed these leveling blocks
in concrete having a consistent texture.

2g. Install the other drainage channels. Let
the concrete embedment harden at the
base of the channels prior to pouring the
finalconcrete.
2i. It is essential that the grates be installed
in the drainage channels and covered
withaplasticfilmorprotectivetape
duringtheconcretepour.Backfillthe
bottom and sides of the trench, in accor-
dance with Figure 1. Take care to spread
the concrete evenly.
2h. Apply a concrete sealer at the joints be-
tween each channel.
2j. Unpack the grates and reinstall them.
Addthefinishcoating,whereapplicable.

3a. Insert the vandal-proof lock under the grate.
3c. Insert the grate into the channel.
3e. Using a 5-mm Allen wrench, tighten the screw to expand the lock and thus prevent removal of the grate.
3b. Press on the lock until it fits completely between the clips.
3d. Press the grate until the clips reach the recesses inside the channel.

LONGITUDINAL EXPANSION JOINTS SHALL BE PROVIDED OVER THE TOTAL LENGTH OF THE CHANNEL PROJECT.
THE TRANSVERSE JOINTS SHOULD BE INSTALLED EVERY 5 METERS WHEN THE CONCRETE IS IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE CHANNELS.
