TST-902-BTP/TST-902-DS Accessories for the TST-902 Installation Guide Introduction This document provides installation and connection instructions for the TST-902-BTP Battery Pack and TST-902-DS Docking Station that ship with the Crestron ® TST-902 Wireless Touch Screen. Install the New Battery Pack Perform the following procedure to install the new TST-902-BTP in a TST-902 touch screen. 1. Orient the battery pack so the “Lift to Remove” tag is visible and the multipin connector is on the left. 2 Make sure the pin side of the multipin connector on the touch screen is facing upward and connect it to the battery pack. 3. Gently place the battery pack in the battery compartment of the touch screen. 4. Reattach the battery compartment cover to the device by placing it on the back of the touch screen, below the cover markings, and then sliding it up into place. Charge the Battery Pack To charge the TST-902-BTP, mount the touch screen on a powered TST-902-DS docking station. NOTE: The battery pack may take up to 6 hours to charge in a powered touch screen if the panel is in use while charging. Store the Battery Pack The TST-902-BTP can be stored in a temperate, dry place (removed from the touch screen and docking station) for up to 3 months without significant irreversible degradation of performance. The self-discharge rate is a function of temperature and internal resistance. Storage at high temperature reduces charge retention. Best results occur if the TST-902-BTP is stored at a temperature between 32˚ and 95˚F (0˚ and 35˚C). NOTE: Lithium-ion batteries must be stored at 50% charge and cycled every 3 months. Dispose of the Battery Pack NOTE: The TST-902-BTP contains a lithium-ion battery. When the unit can no longer retain a charge, it must be recycled or disposed of properly. Follow local ordinances and regulations for disposal. TST-902-BTP Remove the Old Battery Pack NOTE: The TST-902 Wireless Touch Screen contains electrostatic discharge (ESD) sensitive devices. To avoid damaging the unit, perform the following procedure while wearing a grounding strap that is properly grounded or while working on a grounded workstation. NOTE: To prevent damage to the multipin connector and wiring, use care when handling the TST-902-BTP. Perform the following procedure to remove the existing TST-902-BTP from a TST-902 touch screen. 1. Insert the included pin tool into one of the tab release holes on the back of the unit and then slide the bottom cover downward to release the tab on that side. Insert the pin tool into the other tab release hole and then slide the bottom cover downward to release the tab on that side. 3. Gently tug the “Lift to Remove” tag on the battery pack to unseat it from the touch screen. 5. Separate the multipin connector in the battery compartment from the battery pack. Introduction

This document provides installation and connection instructions for the TST-902-BTP Battery Pack and TST-902-DS Docking Station that ship with the Crestron® TST-902 Wireless Touch Screen.

Install the New Battery Pack

Perform the following procedure to install the new TST-902-BTP in a TST-902 touch screen.

1. Orient the battery pack so the “Lift to Remove” tag is visible and the multipin connector is on the left.

2 Make sure the pin side of the multipin connector on the touch screen is facing upward and connect it to the battery pack.

3. Gently place the battery pack in the battery compartment of the touch screen.

4. Reattach the battery compartment cover to the device by placing it on the back of the touch screen, below the cover markings, and then sliding it up into place.

Charge the Battery Pack

To charge the TST-902-BTP, mount the touch screen on a powered TST-902-DS docking station.

NOTE: The battery pack may take up to 6 hours to charge in a powered touch screen if the panel is in use while charging.

The only connection to the TST-902-DS is via the �xed cable, which connects to the included power pack.

When connecting the TST-902-DS to the power pack, consider the following:

• Use Crestron power supplies for Crestron equipment.

• The included cable cannot be extended.

NOTE: The length of the connecting cable on the TST-902-DS is 6 feet (~1.8 meters). In the image above, the length of the cable has been shortened for illustrative purposes.

As of the date of manufacture, the TST-902-BTP and TST-902-DS have been tested and found to comply with speci�cations for CE marking.
