Remove (2) 9/32” screws from thebottom of the radio/climate controltrim panel. (Figure B)

Disconnect the negative battery ter-minal to prevent an accidental shortcircuit.

Unclip and remove the panel sur-rounding the shifter. (Figure A)

Unclip and remove the entire panelsurrounding the radio and includingthe climate controls. (Figure B)

Remove (4) 9/32” screws securingthe radio. Unplug and remove theRadio.

Continue to kit assembly.

Disconnect the negative battery ter-minal to prevent an accidental shortcircuit.

Open center console lid and unclip andremove the center console trim panelsurrounding the shifter. (Figure A)

Unclip and remove the center trimpanel as one assembly. (Figure C)

Remove (4) 9/32” screws securingthe radio. Unplug and remove theRadio.

Continue to kit assembly.

Remove (2) 9/32” screws from thestorage bin then unclip and removethe bin. (Figure B)

Unclip and remove the top of the centerconsole. (Figure A)

Unclip and remove the climate controland trim panel assembly starting atthe bottom edge. (Figure B)

Open the climate control vents andpull straight outward to remove.(Figure C)

Open ashtray door and remove ash-tray then remove (1) Phillips screwfrom inside ashtray cavity. Close ash-tray door.

Unclip the radio trim panel/radioassembly. Unplug and remove assem-bly. (Figure E)

Remove (4) Phillips screws securingthe radio to the trim panel andremove the radio. (Figure F)

Continue to kit assembly.

Remove (2) 10mm screws from thebottom of the radio trim panel assem-bly and (2) 10mm screws from insidethe vents. (Figure E)

Release the (3) clips securing theinner vent cups then pull out toremove cups. (Figure D)

DIN RADIO PROVISION

Slide the DIN cage into the RadioHousing and secure by bending themetal locking outward. (Figure B)

2007 MKZ and 2006 Zephyr only:Attach the corresponding radio housingbracket to the 99-5813 radio housingusing the (4) 8X3/8” Phillips screwssupplied with kit. (All other models skipto step 2) (Figure A)

Slide the aftermarket radio into thecage until it snaps into place. (Figure C)

Continue to final assembly.

ISO MOUNT RADIO PROVISION

Mount the ISO Brackets to the radiousing the screws supplied with theradio. (Figure B)

Slide the radio into the radio housinguntil the side clips snap into place.(Figure C)

Snap the Trim plate onto the front ofthe Radio Housing. (Figure C)

Continue to final assembly.

Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter and making connections as shown. (Isolate and individ-ually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.)

Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation.

Reassemble radio and dash assemblies in reverse order of disassembly.

FINAL WIRING CONNECTIONS

Make wiring connections using the EIA color code chart shown below and the instructions included with thehead unit. Metra recommends making connections as shown below; Strip, Splice, Solder, Tape. Isolate and

individually tape off ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.
