Installing the GMOS-044

1. Withalltheconnectionscompleted,plugthe44-pinharnesses intothevehicle.

2. Reconnectthenegativebatteryterminal.

3. Cyclethekeybyturningtheignitiononthenbackoff,thenbackonagaintotesttheradio.

Testing the GMOS-044

• Turntheignitionon,andthenturntheaftermarketradioon.

• PushtheOnstarbutton,theradioshouldturnoffandyoushouldhearOnstar.

• PushtheOnstarcancelbuttonandtheradioshouldcomebackon.

Note: If the mute wire is not connected, the radio will shut off instead.

• ConnecttheGreen/Blackwiretotheleftrearnegativespeakeroutput.

• Connectthe Purplewiretotherightrearpositivespeakeroutputoftheaftermarketradio.

• ConnectthePurple/Blackwiretotherightrearnegativespeakeroutputoftheaftermarketradio.

• ConnecttheRCA’stotheaudioAUX-inofyouraftermarketradio(ifequipped).

The12-pinharness(ASWC-1pre-wiredplug)willbediscussedlaterinthemanual.

Note: The relay attached to the GMOS-044 is only for audible turn signal clicks. No extra steps are required to retain this, so leave it as-is.

YourvehiclemustbeequippedwithOEsteeringwheelcontrolsinordertoaccessorchangethepersonalizationfeaturesinyourvehicle.FortheChevyCruze,ifyourvehicledidnotcomeequippedwithOEsteeringwheelcontrols,pleaserefertothe“No OE Steering Wheel Control Section”ofthismanual.

Note: Personalization menu can be set before the factory radio is removed. Time and date cannot be adjusted in vehicles without the factory steering wheel controls.

Note: OE Screen can be disconnected in models without factory steering wheel controls.

1. Turnoffyouraftermarketradio.

2. PressandholdtheOff Hookbuttononthesteeringwheelfor3-seconds.After3-secondsthepersonalizationmenuwillshowuponthedisplay.

3. Toscrollthroughthemenus,usetheSeek UpandSeek Down buttonsonthesteeringwheel.

4. Tomakeaselection,usetheSourcebuttononthesteeringwheelwhichisthecenterbuttonbetweentheSeek UpandSeek Down buttons.

5. UsetheOff Hookbuttontoexitthepersonalizationmenu.

Chime Volume Adjustment

Toadjustthechimevolume,useasmallscrewdrivertorotatethepotentiometer,locatedonthe16-pinharnesssideoftheinterface,clockwisetomakethechimelouderandcounterclockwisetomakethechimesofter.

Onstar Level Adjustment

ToadjusttheOnstarvolumelevelfindtheBlack/Yellow wireonthe22-pinharness.PushtheblueOnstarbutton,whilethevoiceisspeakingtaptheBlack/Yellowwiretoground.Thereare4volumesettingsforOnstar;oncethe4thsettingisreachedandthe Black/Yellowwireistappedtogrounditwillautomaticallygobacktothefirstvolumesetting.OncethevolumeissetitwillstayatthatvolumeuntiltheBlack/Yellowwireistappedtogroundagain.

12-pin Harness

The12-pinharnessthatisattachedtotheGMOS-044isforusewiththeASWC-1(soldseparately).PleaserefertotheASWC-1instructionsforprogrammingandoperation.

IfyourvehicledidnotcomeequippedwithOEsteeringwheelcontrols,youcanpurchaseanASWCSTALKtoretainboththeclocksettingfunction,andtheabilitytochangethepersonalizationfeaturesinyourvehicle.BelowarethewiringinstructionsonwiringandusingtheASWCSTALK.

Note: The ASWCSTALK cannot be used to control the aftermarket radio, i.e., volume, seek, mute, etc. You can only use the ASWCSTALK for controlling the personalization menu.

1. ConnectthetwoBlackwiresoftheASWCSTALKto12-voltaccessorypower.

2. ConnecttheGreen/OrangewirefromtheASWCSTALKtotheGreen/Orangewireonthe18-pinharnessoftheGMOS-044.

3. TapeuptheGreen/Black wirefromASWCSTALK,asithasnoconnectioninthisapplication.

4. TurnonignitionandtesttheASWCSTALK.Thefollowingarethebuttonsthatapplytothisapplication.Allotherbuttonswillnotbeusedinthisapplication.
