To do this, devices within schools and preschools need to install a security certificate called SAEDU Certificate Authority Root Certificate (SAEDURootCA). This Fact Sheet documents the steps required to manually install the LearnLink security certificate on a Windows 7 computer. If the computer is a member of an Active Directory then use: FS70-410 - Installing the LearnLink Security Certificate (Active Directory 2003) FS70-411 - Installing the LearnLink Security Certificate (Active Directory 2008) Important: If you have devices other than Windows computers that need to access the Internet then check the relevant Fact Sheets available from SSONet. 1. Download the SAEDURootCA Root certificate (SAEDURootCA.cer) from http://ca.schools.sa.edu.au/SAEDURootCA.cer and store it on the server for use at step 6. 2. The LearnLink solution has been designed with a security focus, this includes encrypting data across elements of the DECD environment. To do this, devices within schools and preschools need to install a security certificate called SAEDU Certificate Authority Root Certificate (SAEDURootCA). This Fact Sheet documents the steps required to manually install the LearnLink security certificate on a Windows 7 computer. If the computer is a member of an Active Directory then use:

1. Download the SAEDURootCA Root certificate (SAEDURootCA.cer) from

http://ca.schools.sa.edu.au/SAEDURootCA.cer and store it on the server for use at step 6.

2. Click Start and type mmc in the search box and press Enter (For Windows 8 Press Windows Key

+R, then type mmc and press Enter)

3. On the File Menu select Add/Remove Snap-in

4. Select Certificates and press Add

5. Select Computer account and press Next

6. Press Finish

7. Press OK

8. Expand Certificates -> Trusted Root Certificate Authorities-> Certificates on the left

9. Right-click Certificates and select All Tasks -> Import…

10. On the Welcome to the Certificate Import Wizard click Next.

11. On the File to Import page, browse to the location you stored SAEDURootCA.cer and then click Next.

12. On the Certificate Store page, click Place all certificates in the following store, and then click

Next.

13. On the Completing the Certificate Import Wizard page, verify that the information you provided

is accurate, and then click Finish

14. Verify that the certificate SAEDU Root CA is present.

NOTE: If the certificate isn’t published correctly you will receive certificate

warnings when browsing some websites via the LearnLink web filtering

service.
