Weeding maintanence beneath shrubs and plants can be time consuming, hard work and difficult. Bushes and small shrubs that are weed free are healthier plants and require less plant bed maintenance. Landscape fabric stops weeds without chemicals while allowing moisture and nutrients to pass through. Installing the fabric properly doesn't disturb the existing bushes or take a significant time investment, but it does provide an optimum weed barrier that can conserve water by design. Stone, pavers and crushed rock are excellent as groundcovers in land- scapes for their low-maintenance, durability and attractiveness. Their lasting quality makes them ideal for use in foundation plantings ,walkways or driveway material. Properly installing landscape fabric before applying rocks over the area will effectively suppress weeds and prevent rocks and soil from mixing. Installing Weed Barrier Fabric Around Shrubs and Plants: Under Pathways: CLEAN & RAKE Remove weeds from desired area and rake ground smooth. Remove grass and weeds from desired area and level soil surface from high and low spots. 1 ANCHOR & SECURE For best results, secure fabric with DeWitt Anchor Pins. ANCHOR & SECURE Secure the fabric tightly with DeWitt Anchor Pins at regular intervals, es- pecially along seams and edges. 3 CUT & PLACE Place fabric around existing plants, or cut an X to install plants. CUT & PLACE Lay fabric making sure any overlap is at least 6 to 8 inches and leave extra fabric along border. 2 COVER & ENJOY Cover area with bark, mulch or your choice of decorative stone.
