    Ongoing Work

A Network Analysis of the Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental

    Management

    Creating an Innovative Learning Environment

He creates an innovative learning environment using information and

communication technology in classroom. He connects text material with current real

world examples. He also offers flexibility, ubiquity and connectedness to students.

Outline on Most Significant Contribution to Research

By producing good quality research output Prof. Ohlan has set examples for

improvement in the quality of research in India. His publications have improved the

existing literature on numerous issues like implications of WTO for Indian

agriculture, role of globalization in increasing trade in dairy products, impact of

demonetization on foreign tourist arrivals in India, role of renewable and non-

renewable energy in economic growth, impact of population density on carbon

emission, elasticity of economic growth with tourism, electricity and trade

openness, India's comparative advantage in farm trade, etc. His research work has

offered new insights for policymakers to articulate comprehensive economic, trade,

energy policies to sustain long‐run economic growth and to design sustainable

    business strategies.

Roadmap for Teaching and Research for the Next Five Years

His roadmap for teaching and research for the next five years is as follows:

Introducing ICSSR sponsored IMPRESS (Impactful Policy Research in Social

Science), Global Initiative of Academic Networks(GIAN), UGC Stride and UGC

sponsored SAP (Special Assistance Programme) in the Department.

Organizing capacity building programme for faculty members so that they can

contribute in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journals.

  • 14

Each PhD holder should have at least one research paper published in the

journal indexed in Science Citation Index (SCI).

Introducing research project work in Master level courses

Updating knowledge of students by organizing conferences on emerging

issues. Introducing new programs in the Department like PG Certificate in

International Business and Finance, MDP on Management of Pricing, MDP on

Management of Agricultural Business, MDP on Business Analytics in a Big Data

World, Certificate Programme in Export Import Management, Certificate

Programme in Capital & Financial Markets, Certificate Programme in Global

    Trade Logistics and Operations, etc.

Vision for the Institution for the Next Five Years

For leading institution for good quality teaching and research, I would like to

develop the department much more than an institution for minting degrees and

launching careers. It will be a place where minds will be shaped, lifelong friendships

be formed and ideas will be born and tested. It would be a social and intellectual

hub of one of India’s leading public universities. My dream is to see Department

working at par with Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi, and Delhi School of

Economics, University of Delhi, Delhi, etc.

    Hobbies

My hobbies include Swimming, Yoga, Running and Wrestling.

    Human Values

The set of human values in which I believe in my real life covers trustworthiness,

empathy, passion, respect, stability, patience, kindness, selflessness, leadership,

open-mindedness, persistence, courage, intelligence, strength and reliability.

    Ideology

Commitment for the upliftment of poor, unprivileged and downtrodden is in the

DNA of Prof. Ohlan. The reflection of this ideology can be seen in his research work

as well. He enjoys a missionary zeal in help of needy and dedicated students.

    Miscellaneous Information/Readiness for Other Non-Teaching

    Activities/Responsibilities

Vice-Chancellor, Director Research, Dean Academic Affairs, Dean of Faculty,

Director Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Head of Department, etc.
