What is Automated Enforcement?

• ITE definition - “Automated Enforcement is the use of image capture technology to monitor and enforce traffic control laws, regulations, or restrictions. Where enabling legislation authorizes the use of automated enforcement, the image capture technology negates the need for a police officer to directly witness an offense.”

How The Process Works

• Time, date, and speed are recorded.• Photos reviewed by police officers or

other law officials.• Tickets are mailed only if there is clear

evidence that the vehicle was in violation of the law.
