What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? The type of institutions and publishers which would be best suited for me are a big large scale mass market institution, which appeals to a large audience as the music genre of pop which I have used for my own magazine. The genre pop includes a large variety of artists which are hugely popular in the charts and have yet become well known. The publishers of the magazine would need to have a large budget to feature the hugely successful stars within the magazine but yet also be a large scale business, which know the right ways to catch the attention of the particular audience in which my magazine is aimed towards. Because the more magazines sold to the audience, the larger profit the magazine will make, meaning a larger budget to spend on improving the magazine as a whole.

What kind of media institution’s distribute your existing products you researched?

Smash Hits magazine is published by Bauer Publishing Group.

Bauer Media owns more than eighty media brands spanning a wide range of interests, including heat, GRAZIA, Closer, MCN, FHM, Parkers, MATCH, Magic 105.4, Kiss 100, Kerrang and Q. With the magazine creating magazines for such a wide range of different demographics they will know exactly how to gather a wide audience interest for the magazine.

Billboard magazine is published by Crown Publishing Group.

The Crown Publishing Group, is a division of Random House, Inc., a institute originated in 1933 and is known today for the broad scope of their publishing program, their large selection of books, and their efforts to market them. The institute unlike the others is based in the U.S. and has a large book variety and therefore they will know how to spend their budget in creating a magazine which could be a best seller, and gaining the most interest.

Top Of The Pops magazine is published by the BBC Publishing Group.

BBC Magazines Limited recently became part of the Immediate Media Company Group. They publish some of the UK’s best-known magazines including Radio Times, Gardeners’ World, Top Gear and CBeebies, and have recently began leading digital brands. With the magazine’s they produce they mostly link in with programmes which have been featured on BBC television channels.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?Out of the magazines I have researched and since finding out more information on the institutes that publish the magazines, I have decided that Bauer Publishing Group would be the best for my magazine, as they have produced a large range of music based magazines under the pop genre of music such as Smash Hits, Heat, Kerrang! And Q, and working on TV channels such as 4Music, Smash Hits, Kiss and Magic. All of which have been influenced around the same genre of music as my own, they would know who and which ways are the best to appeal to the correct demographic of consumers. With working on such a large scale of different publication’s and TV channels and radio station’s they have a large broadcast of which they could advertise my magazine and aim it towards the correct audience in which would buy my magazine.
