SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS

All applicants, regardless of age, are required to attend the interview at the Consulate. This includes children

under the age of 14.

If this is your first appointment, please complete form DS-260 at nvc.state.gov/260. You must do this for all

schedule both an Applicant Service Center (ASC) appointment and a Consular interview. If you do not go to the ASC

before your interview at the Consulate, your case will be delayed.

If you have already had an interview, and more than one year has passed since your initial interview, you will need to

1. Do not talk to strangers on the street.

2. On the day of your appointment, do not go to the consulate before 6:00 a.m. The consulate opens at

6:30 a.m.

3. Carry the least amount of money possible in cash.

4. Do not show your documents or applications to anyone who offers to put them in order or fill them

out. The Immigrant Visa Consular Section will do this for you during your interview. If you have any

questions about your visa, ask personnel at the Information Window located at the entrance to the

Consulate. Applications and advice are free.

5. Report any attempted robbery or assault to Consulate personnel.

ATTENTION:

PRUEBAS DE SU RELACION

Si su estado como un posible inmigrante depende de una relación establecida por un matrimonio entre un extranjero y un

ciudadano estadounidense o residente legal permanente, debe estar preparado para presentar la documentación adecuada para

establecer la buena fe de que el matrimonio en el momento de su entrevista de visa de inmigrante.

Desafortunadamente, hemos encontrado que existe una gran cantidad de fraude en trámites de residencia basados en matrimonios

o en visas de prometido(a) que confieren un beneficio de inmigración. El alto nivel de fraude nos obliga a solicitar comprobantes

concretos que apoyan su elegibilidad para una visa basada en su matrimonio. En el pasado los siguientes tipos de documentación

han sido útiles en la adjudicación de estas visas:

Comprobantes de alquiler o renta

Escrituras de propiedad mutuas

Contratos o hipotecas mutuas

Recibos de pago de servicios públicos (luz, agua, gas, teléfono)

PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP

If your status as an intending immigrant depends upon a relationship established by a marriage between an alien and a United

States citizen or legal permanent resident, please be prepared to present suitable documentation to establish the bona-fides of that

marriage at the time of your immigrant visa interview.

Unfortunately we have found that there is a great deal of fraud involved in relationships that confer immigration benefits. This

high level of fraud makes it imperative that we review detailed evidence that supports your claim to a visa based on marriage or

engagement. In the past, the following types of documentation have been helpful in the adjudication of these visas:

Rent receipts listing both names

Leases or mortgages held jointly

Property deeds

Utility bills

Evidence of joint bank accounts

Evidence of joint credit accounts

Life and medical insurance policies indicating beneficiaries

Auto registrations showing joint ownership and/or addresses

Drivers licenses of both spouses

Birth certificates of any children born of the marriage

Photos that show the petitioner and applicant together

Any correspondence addressed jointly to the petitioner and applicant from family

members, or correspondence between the petitioner and applicant.

Most recent tax returns listing both names

Any other convincing documentation that shows that the petitioner and applicant

maintain a joint residence and/or have formed an economic and marital union

Please bring this type of proof of the relationship to the visa interview so that the validity of your relationship can be accurately

assessed.

EMPLOYMENT: If your entitlement to immigrant status is based on an employment-based petition or an offer of employment, you must obtain from

your employer in the United States a written statement confirming that the employment offered to you is still available. The statement

should be on the stationery of the employer’s business organization and must be notarized. This statement must be presented at the

El horario que tienen para recibir a los solicitantes de visa es de 6:00 a 11:00 de la mañana de lunes a viernes. No es requisito

indispensable agendar una cita para su examen médico. Las clínicas médicas están situadas a un lado del Consulado.

Cada solicitante deberá presentar la hoja de cita y pasaporte al momento de su cita médica. Si usted tiene problema médico crónico, ha

sido tratado de cualquier enfermedad venérea o ha estado bajo cuidado psiquiátrico, el doctor le recomienda que traiga un resumen

médico con usted o arregle que este le sea mandado al doctor antes de su examen médico.

Los solicitantes que presenten signos y/o síntomas de la tuberculosis o la infección por VIH deberán pasar por un proceso medico

diseñado para detectar y tratar la enfermedad de la tuberculosis y reducir el riesgo de propagación de la tuberculosis entre la población

de Estados Unidos; este procedimiento cumple con las regulaciones de los Centros para el Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades

de los Estados Unidos y puede tomar de tres a seis meses antes de que la clinica pueda expedir el examen médico final.

Solicitantes de dos años (2) a catorce (14) años de edad deberán practicarse el examen médico por lo menos con cuatro (4) días

laborales de anticipación a su cita programada en el Consulado. El no hacerlo, puede resultar en retrasos o reprogramación de su

fecha de cita inicial. También se le recomienda que si va a vacunar a los niños dentro de este rango de edad lo haga por lo menos

cuatro (4) semanas antes de su examen médico.

Por disposición de los Centros para el Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades de los Estados Unidos, a partir del 1 de Octubre de

2016, todos los solicitantes de visa de 15 años y mayores, deberán realizarse el examen de orina para detección de gonorrea.

El costo de los exámenes médicos en cualquiera de las clínicas es:

A. Solicitantes de 15 años o más: $220.00 dólares o su equivalente en moneda nacional.

B. Solicitantes menores de 15 años: $135.00 dólares o su equivalente en moneda nacional.

C. Al valor total del examen médico se le deberá agregar el 16% de I.V.A.

NOTA: El costo del examen médico incluye solamente los exámenes médicos necesarios, excepto por el examen del DNA. Será

necesario que el peticionario/solicitante cubran el costo de exámenes adicionales requeridos al momento de su examen. El costo de

las vacunas es adicional al del examen médico.

El pago puede ser en efectivo o con cargo a tarjetas de crédito Visa y MasterCard.

*Deberá presentar a la recepcionista la hoja de cita al entrar a la clínica. Aparte debe traer con usted todos sus documentos.

REQUISITOS PARA VACUNACION

La Ley de Inmigración de los Estados Unidos de Norte América requiere que los solicitantes de Visas de Inmigrante obtengan ciertas

vacunas antes de la expedición de su Visa. Las clínicas autorizadas para practicar los exámenes médicos a los solicitantes de Visas de

Inmigrante están a cargo de verificar que reúnan el requisito de vacunación:

Los solicitantes deben traer sus registros de vacunación disponibles para su examen médico. Si no cuenta con el registro de

vacunación, el médico determinara cuál de las vacunas son médicamente apropiadas para usted, de acuerdo a su edad, historial

clínico y su actual condición médica.

El costo de la(s) vacuna(s) dependerá del tipo de vacuna o vacunas que a Usted le falten y en términos generales el costo puede

variar. Este cargo es independiente del costo de su Examen Médico regular.

Ningún empleado consular proporcionará información relacionada con las vacunas, esto será tratado directamente con las clínicas

one of the authorized medical clinics before the interview date. We suggest that you make arrangements for your medical

Visa applicants are received between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. No appointment is required. Medical offices

are located close to the Consulate.

Each applicant must present the visa appointment letter and a passport at the time of medical appointment. If you suffer from a

chronic illness, have been treated for any venereal disease, or are under psychiatric care, the doctor recommends that you bring your

medical file or have it forwarded to the doctor prior to your medical examination. It is not necessary to bring a photo for your

medical exam.

Applicants who show signs or symptoms of tuberculosis or who are HIV/AIDS positive must complete a further medical process in

order to comply with the regulations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). This process is designed to detect and treat

tuberculosis in order to reduce the risk of spreading tuberculosis within the population of the United States. It may take between three

and six months before the clinic will be able to complete the final medical exam for these applicants.

Applicants between the ages of two and fourteen must undergo the medical examination at least four business days prior to the

scheduled appointment at the Consulate. Failure to do so may result in processing delays or rescheduling of the appointment. It is

also recommended that children within this age range not receive immunizations within four weeks prior to the medical examination.

NOTE: Applicants residing in the State of Mexico and Mexico, D.F must go to the following authorized clinic for their medical

As directed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States of America, beginning on October 1, 2016 all

immigrant visa applicants age 15 and older must provide a urine sample for gonorrhea screening.

All clinics charge the following fees for the examination:

A. Applicants ages 15 and over: USD $220.00

B. Applicants younger than 15: USD $135.00

C. A 16% tax (I.V.A.) must be added to the cost of the medical exam for all applicants.

NOTE: The medical examination fee includes the complete medical examination and any required supplemental examinations.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

United States immigration laws require that immigrant visa applicants obtain certain vaccinations prior to the issuance of a visa.

Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations are required to verify that immigrant visa applicants have met the new

vaccination requirements.

In order to assist the panel physician, applicants should bring any available vaccination records to the medical exam. If there is no

vaccination record, the panel physician will work with you to determine which vaccinations you may need to meet the requirement.

Only the panel physician will determine which of the vaccinations are medically appropriate for you, given your age, medical history

and current medical condition.

The cost of your vaccines will depend upon the type of vaccination(s) that you will need. The vaccination fee is separate from the

cost of your required medical examination.

Consulate employees are not authorized to give information in reference to vaccination requirements to the general public. The only

authorized agencies to give this information are the panel physicians.
