AP Biology Course Description

This second year course includes topics covered in a college introductory biology course for majors and provides students with the conceptual framework, factual

knowledge, and analytical skills necessary to deal critically with the rapidly changing science of biology.

Students completing this course will be eligible to take the AP Exam. It is

strongly recommended that the student complete Honors Biology before

enrolling in this class.

Honors Biology Course Description

Biology is a hands on approach to the life sciences. It is a comprehensive study of biological

properties, from cellular processes to animal form and function. As a whole, this includes the

ecological study of human interaction with our environment and the history of our development. This is a rigorous laboratory science designed to

provide a comprehensive survey of the life sciences, in a manner in which critical thinking skills are used to study all forms of life. This

course will also have an extensive writing component for developing scientific literacy. This course is designed to prepare the student for AP

Biology.
