The ABB IRB 2400 ROBOTIC FINISHING CELL is designed for the special requirements of deburring and grindingof profiled workpieces and molded parts – even with the most difficult of contours and materials including steel,nonferrous metals, wood, plastic etc.

The twin station 4 wheel variable speed polishing cell has the robot and the grinding machines anchored on a stableframe and surrounded by a cabin. This provides especially favorable conditions for maximum operatorsafety, workplace cleanliness with dust extraction and sound dampening .

The fore cabin area is fitted with a conveniently situated OMRON plc Panelview operator interface  panel and roboticcontrol console with associated robot teach pendant.

Intec 4 Head Belt Finnishing Cell with ABB RobotThe Intec - ABB IRB 2400 ROBOTIC FINISHING CELL is engineered for use as with a wide range of abrasive beltsto suit many processes and applications from rough stock removal to fine polishing.

All of the electrical elements required by the machine are located in a switch cabinet. From this unit, a bussystem is used to link it to the robot and integrate it into a functional whole. The machine design takes thelatest advances in belt grinding technology into account, and the system is engineered for the combined use ofabrasive belts on both the contact wheels and the slack of the belt. 

The Loser grinding machines takes into account the particular requirements of machined workpieces and moldedparts with sleeplessly varying belt speeds, including grinding of extremely difficult contours on metal, non-ferrousmetals, wood and plastics

This system uses an industrial ABB IRB 2400 robot which is equipped with a pneumatically actuated gripper to pickup the components from the dedicated loading materials parts presenter.

The components are then taken to one of the two fixed grinding stations whereby they are manipulated in front of therotating wheels to be finished to a repeatable high standard.

This finishing cell is equipped with two double Loser belt grinding spindles to operate with four varying sets ofabrasive belts, up to 50mm wide and with a selection of available front contact wheels.

This system gives you high performance in terms of both cycle times and accuracy.
