INTEGRATION OF PROJECTS FOR
CANNABIS
INDICA vs. SATIVA• Very tall, long branches with
large distances between nodes
• Expansive root system
• Long, thin leaves
• Small & compact size
• Condensed root system
• Robust stems & broad leaves
• Dense & heavy buds
• Small & wide in size
• Less branches than the Indica / Sativa
• Conical shape
SATIVA
REQUIRES MORE TIME IN THE VEGETATIVE PHASE AND
PRODUCES LESS WEIGHT. DUE TO ITS ORIGIN IN EQUATORIAL
REGIONS, ENJOY HEAT & MOISTURE HIGHER THAN INDICAS.
INDICA
DOMINANT HYBRIDS, THE MOST COMMON IN INTERIOR
OPERATIONS AND GREENHOUSE. TYPICALLY PRODUCES
MORE WEIGHT AND PLANTS CAN RESIST A WIDE RANGE OF
CLIMATIC CONDITIONS. THE SPECIES ARE ORIGINATED IN
THE DRIEST REGIONS (INDIA).

Methods to increase yield & quality. Helping the plant to get maximum exposure for light and airflow, together with growing more branches & utilizing the nutrients & plant energy for the flowers.

HUMIDITYROOT ZONE TEMPERATURE
TEMPERATURE
OXYGEN
80% + for cutting60- 70% for veg30- 40% for flower(to prevent mold/ powdery mildew)
80ºF (26˚C) for cuttings, 76º- 86ºF (24˚– 30˚C) for veg and flower.
Ideal depends on light intensity & CO2 augmentation (300-400 ppm atmospheric vs up to 1300 ppm augmented).
Higher intensity and CO2 levels means the plants will grow better in higher temperatures. Growth will actually be slowed at 78º.
Temperature of irrigation water and root zone should be around 60-75ºF(15˚– 24˚C), with 65-70ºF being ideal.
Any lower than 60ºF (15˚C) begins to cause retard growth.
Higher than 75º F (24˚C) greatly reduces O2 levels in the root zone.
O2 availability in the root zone is critical. The more oxygen, the better.
GROWING CONDITIONS
pH IN HYDROPONICS NUTRIENTS
Soil pH should be a bit higher than usual, around 6.3- 6.8, with an ideal of about 6.5.
The soil pH should be monitored if growing in soil, not necessarily the feed solution.
All micronutrients required by most plants must be present.
Cannabis needs more nitrogen in comparison to other crops.
The pH should be continuously monitored & balanced and should be between 5.5- 6 in order to maximize nutrient uptake

Regardless of the method, with any hydroponic media (coco, peat, rock wool, etc.)It is important to maintain low flow rates: < 1.5 L/H (0/33 GPH) per emission site (dripper/ stake) in order to prevent deoxygenation of the substrate, disturbance of its structure and possible nitrite poisoning upon subsequent fertigation with a nitrate fertilizer.
