Devices for Multi-Service Networks

The rampant development of the Internet contributed to significant demand growth on telecommunication services and systems.

The equipment for modern backhauls has to satisfy the following requirements:

Support of different network topologies (add-drop multiplexing, ring, star, mixed)

Presence of interfaces for packet traffic

Conformity of the management system with terms of the Telecommunications Management Network (TMN)

All products presented in this section have completely compatible fiber-optic links and are designed for establishing multi-service networks.

The development of Ethernet technology and its conversion into a transport technology with essential service level agreements (SLA’s) determines the need of devices able to build a “superposed” Ethernet network.

The most simple and cost-effective solution for Ethernet routing over PDH/SDH networks is the use of interface converters of the Arlan series.

Also in this section we present devices for Ethernet transfer based on VDSL technology (over “non-loaded” and “loaded” twisted pair, at a distance of up to 1.5 kilometers).

During network operations it is possible to encounter the requirement for connecting to different kinds of facility devices (UPS, air-conditioners, micro-climate control systems, sensors for fire and burglar alarm systems, energy meters, hot water and heating measurements, and atmospheric analyzer’s etc.) to the COM ports of PCs

The situation is getting more complicated while the network is continuously expanding

The Arlan-9000 devices working over the TCP/IP protocol can solve this problem. They facilitate in conjunction with service software the possibility to organize geographically-distributed systems.

Network Management

Page 17: Intelorg Telecom Product Overview V28.10.09

The guidelines for integrated management systems of different networks rendering different services are based on the TMN (Telecommunication Management Network) concept developed by International Telecommunication Union (ITU)

The application possibilities of this system are associated with the fact that the TMN isn't strictly related to any transfer system or peculiar network type. All information (needed for management) is contained in the integrated data base that can be changed and complimented by descriptions of new management objects

The entire TMN service data exchange can run over the present transport system of the managed network

The core idea of the TMN concept is establishing a network structure for interaction of different control units and telecommunications equipment using standard protocols and interfaces.

1000’s of PolyKom networking appliances are

installed today the following are two key customer scenarios

Page 20: Intelorg Telecom Product Overview V28.10.09

The leading communications solution for Railways in Russia is based on a solution of PolyKom 200 and 300 Multi-Service Networking Products.

The solution was developed specifically to manage a linear communications topology with segment to segment communications.

With an optical backbone and a PolyKom solution the railways are able to abandon their leased circuits and to blend the channels for train control and other data and voice communications.

Application for the Railway Industry

Page 21: Intelorg Telecom Product Overview V28.10.09

The required solution for Russian Oil and Gas industries is to overlay Ethernet traffic on a previously implemented TDM infrastructure.

PolyKom offers a series of inverse multiplexers the Arlan-145x which support Ethernet over 1 to 4 E1 channels over a PDH/SDH infrastructure.

This solution allows for the opportunity to combine local network traffic with existing data or voice traffic or to create a separate physically secure data channel with guaranteed bandwidth.

All equipment can be put into Benchmark or trial testing

We will provide up to two units of any type listed in our catalogue

The amount of traffic utilizing terrestrial and wireless networks is continuing to grow at an exponential rate.

PolyKom and Arlan devices will consolidate all types of traffic for internetworking or backhaul scenarios

The PolyKom solution provides the necessary interfaces for any organization to maximize their infrastructure for telephony and data networking without the burden of expensive and cumbersome SDH systems and infrastructure.

The bottom line is a much more cost effective and intelligent network design.
