Death For Life

• We must die in order to have true

life. John 12:24-26

– We should die to the sinful life.

Gal. 2:20; Acts 3:19

– Live spelled backwards is evil which

leads to spiritual death! Rom. 6:23

– We must become dead to sin and alive

to God in Christ! Romans 6:11-12

We Die To This Home

• This world is not my home, we look

to the heavenly home.

– We’re pilgrims! Heb. 11:13-16

– Our Home is heaven. Phil. 3:20

• We cannot focus on this world and

prepare for heaven. 1 Jn. 2:15-17

– But we can be ready if we DO the will

of God! Eccl. 12:13

This Death is Love & Hate

• Love God more than All! Mark 12:30

• Hate my temporal life so I can reap

eternal life. 1 Pet. 2:11; Rom. 8:8-15

• Hate money so I can make others rich.

1 Tim. 6:6-11

• Hate my ideas of right and wrong so I

can do God’s will. Romans 12:1-2

Die To Perfect

• …My love for my wife, as Christ does

the church. Eph. 5:25-28

• …My love for my family, so they can

see God’s eternal love. Mt. 10:37-39;

Luke 8:20-21; 1 Tim. 4:16

• …My thoughts so I can have Christ

and His words in me. Col. 2:6-10

We Intentionally Die

• So that we can live with Jesus eternally.

– We die to the old self and live as a new

creation in Christ. 2 Cor. 5:17, 7

– Christ is our life today. Col. 3:4

– Although we still live in the flesh we live by

faith in Christ who loved us and died for us!

• Even though a type of death occurs it

opens the way to abundant life! Jn. 10:10

Come Receive Eternal Life!

• It’s available only through Jesus

Christ! Jn. 14:6; 2 Tim. 2:10

• Hear Christ… Mt. 7:21; 17:5

• Believe the Gospel… Rom. 1:16

• Repent of sin… Acts 2:38

• Confess Christ… Rom.10:9-10

• Be Baptized… Acts 22:16
