History

• 2006 Initiation of a Stratford Campus Inter-School Collaboration Group

• Vision – The Stratford campus of UMDNJ will emerge as a paradigm for multi-school collaboration, with a strong emphasis on interprofessional education, research, and practice

– Initiate a Stratford Campus Day of Service, possibly to coincide with the National Day of Service on the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. , to highlight our commitment to interprofessional community service

Day of Service– 80 students representing three Schools: SOM,

Nursing, and Public Health– Sites included:

• PROJECT HOPE (painting)• Hope Community Outreach Center (Health Screenings

and interior painting)• Cathedral Kitchen (screenings, blood pressures, health

education about diabetes, hypertension)• NJ Veteran Memorial Home (Nursing Home) (play Bingo,

bring residents from room, serve snacks) • Woodland Presbyterian Church (church clean up, painting,

conduct anti-violence workshop)• Cumberland County Juvenile Detention Center

(presentions on careers)

• Push by students to reinstitute Interprofesional Grand Rounds

• Due to intensity of planning and implementation: two programs will be offered each academic year for the next two academic years, for a total of four

• Stratford Campus Day of Service will continue to be offered on the National Day of Service
