The majority of technical college students and corporate maintenance/service staff are more empirical than abstract learners.

Students are better at learning concepts if they have experience with concrete phenomena that are being studied and if they are aware of the potential applications and usefulness of the knowledge they are acquiring.

Realistic visualization, high interactivity and rich functionality of theATeL’s educational modules and components help teachers to:

• spark students’ interest and engaged them in learning science, technology and engineering,

• introduce complex and sometimes abstract concepts in the context of familiar real-world processes, devices and situations.

Educational tools support most effective learning strategies including:

• conceptual learning• learning-by-doing• problem-based learning• just-in-time learning.

Visualization and high interactivity motivate students towards learning science and technology and make it more fun.

Simulations and virtual experiments can be used as warm-ups, post-class tasks, or self-learning activities in traditional instructions. a single open computer-based learning environment in conjunction with other online materials, hands-on activities, and printed textbooks supplementary materials to existing curricula in the form of separate self-contained components.

The simulations can substantially enhance classroom lecture experiences.

ATeL software is an irreplaceable tool for distance learning.

Interactive e-learning activities can work well in many settings both outside and inside the classroom, over the Web, Intranet or on a stand-alone computer.
