Friendly greetings to all residents and CHOA Management.

We, the shift managers, controllers and all guards of Bidvest Protea Coin Group would like to "THANK YOU" all for showing your gratitude by contributing to our yearly bonuses. It is highly appreciated by all of us.

Some guards also received trophies for the extra hard work they have done and those who walked the extra mile for the safety of the residents and the CHOA of Centurion Residential Estate.

This past year we can proudly say that there was no crime or major incidents from outside as the patrolling and visibility of the security officers are of a high standard and we intend to keep

it this way. A special thanks to Mr. Kobus Blom and Mr. Leonard Puputa of the CHOA as they are always here to assist in the improvement of the working standard and morals of all our security officers.

We also want to say a special thanks to Mrs Margaret Lee for the initiation of this fund.

A vERY BIG “THANK YOU” TO ALL THE HOMEOWNERS WHO CONTRIBUTEd TO OUR GUARd BONUSES THIS PAST FESTIvE SEASON.An amount of R52 000.00 was collected and a further R25 000.00 was added to this by the Board, making a grand total of R77 000.00. This was distributed amongst 40 guards. The handing over took place on Friday morning, 16 January 2015. The amount that was paid out to each guard depended on performance and length of employ on the Estate. The payment was kept as a surprise for the guards and at the conclusion of the handing over Mrs Mcdougal pushed “dIE GROEN KNOPPIE” and the room reverberated with payment notices as the amounts were transferred to each guard. Big smiles and happy faces all around.

Again, thank you and may 2015 be another crime free year on our lovely Estate.

CApTAIN’s reportThe big date that you should already have put into your diaries is our annual club championships. This is a weekend where we all try our best to at least beat our handicap, with many of us failing miserably, but the camaraderie that ensues over the two days is well worth it. The ladies, Veterans and Juniors will be staged on 7 and 8 March 2015, and the Men’s championships will be held on the 14 and 15 March 2015. Please pop into the Pro Shop and put your name down for our flagship event of the year. Prize giving will follow on the Sunday after each event, with a lovely lunch in the dining room, so don’t miss out!

Also, please note that the annual knockouts will be starting shortly and the entry sheets are up on the notice board. We had a large increase in entries last year, so let’s see if we can grow this even further this year!

By the time that this report reaches you, a number of leagues would have started. To all of you that take the time to represent centurion country club, i thank you and i wish you all the best for the season.

i am sad to report that Florence Vermeulen has left to relocate to nelspruit. Her input to the committee and support of Tilla was superb, and i am sure we will all miss her. good luck in Mpumalanga Florence!

The monthly captains challenge is on 28 February 2015 and i have decided (after some lobbying) to switch the competition around so get ready for a change… Also, please pop in to Hokaai for all your needs – they really go out of their way to help!

Letter from the GmHi all

no doubt everyone will be surprised to see the club Manager writing a note this month for the interface on the upcoming events at the club. The reason being that our lady captain, Till Janssen, sadly had a death in the family. We offer our deepest condolences to Tilla and her family and will keep them in our prayers.

February and March are always very busy golfing months. We have the nomads visiting us on 8 Feb 2015 with a tremendously full field of 160 golfers. Straight after them we have another igT Tournament from 10 to 12 Feb. On Thursday afternoon, 12 Feb, we will host the first of this year’s challenges for our corporate members who participate in the annual corporate challenge. Saturday, 14 Feb will be the first of our monthly Betterball challenges sponsored by Mercedes Benz centurion. Be sure to be part of this challenge.

Then on Sunday, 15 Feb, we host the gng Junior girls Open - 36 holes as well as a clinic that will be offered to the future champions on Monday, 16 Feb. With the varsities back in full swing, we also have our monthly Tuks Students and juniors practicing here on Monday afternoon, 16 Feb. On Saturday, 21 Feb, we will have our own champion of champions battling it out.

A much anticipated event this year has been scheduled for Sunday, 22 Feb, for the annual Fishing and Market Day which will be jam packed with lots of fun things taking place. And our postponed greenkeeper’s revenge is sure to thrill and excite all the golfers on Friday, 27 Feb. The first of this year’s monthly Hokaai captain’s

challenges will take place on Saturday, 28 Feb with a morning shot gun start at 07h15.

in March 2015 we will see the first of our club championships taking place on the weekend of 7 and 8 March with our ladies, Veterans and our Juniors. The Men’s club championship will take place the following weekend on 14 and 15 March. entry forms are available at the Pro Shop so don’t delay to enter. Times will be advised to all concerned in due course.

House is also yOur facility and a number of events have been scheduled to take place over the next few months and throughout the year, so please feel free to visit and support all the events. We would love to welcome new faces to the prize presentations. Have a good 2015 and hope to see you at the club House and on the golf course.

Mercedes Benz Betterball ChallengeWe have some exciting news for the 2015 schedule - Mercedes Benz centurion has come on board to sponsor a monthly

betterball competition.

This will include a boost in prizes, including an overall yearly prize of a Mercedes advanced driving experience for the

winning two ball. Just to wet your appetite, the monthly winning two ball will receive a demo vehicle for an entire

weekend! Be sure to put your name down for these challenges.

The Mercedes betterball Stableford will take place every second Saturday, the first being the 14 February 2015. (Prizes
