DESCRIPTION

COLOR ARTISTS What happen when there is no COLOR? when everything it´s INVISIBLE? Who can´t see IT? Which property is THIS? What we can SEE? And for WHAT? In this curatorial exhibition I presented a little selection of artists, that are working in this case in videoart, so stubborn in the idea of COLOR, as a total, not only as a part of, a selection of, no. No like this variations, claiming the COLOR as hole piece of ART. This show has the unity of the geometry (Pablo Serret de Ena) mixed with the childhood memories of ours toys and how they had developed in this last years (Bubi Canal, Unai Requejo). From the reality to the fantasy, from the beginning, the empty space to the end where everything is cover (Federica Pecorelli, Sanglim Han). From the perfection to the chaos, from the best to the worst of our civilization and our selves. Without give up the tropicalism and the power of the colours and their musicality (Cristian Guardia).

COLOR ARTISTS

“(noun)  Color is the element that is produced when light, striking an object, is reflected back to the eye. There are three (3) properties to color.  First is hue, which simply means the name we give to a color (red, yellow, blue, etc.). The second property is intensity, which refers to the strength and vividness of the color.  The third and final property of color is its value, meaning its lightness or darkness. “.  Shelley Esaak  But what happen when there is no COLOR? when everything it´s INVISIBLE? Who can´t see IT? Which property is THIS? What we can SEE? And for WHAT?  In this curatorial exhibition I presented a little selection of artists, that are working in this case in videoart,so stubborn in the idea of COLOR, as a total, not                                                           only as a part of, a selection of, no. No like this variations, claiming the COLOR as hole piece of ART.  This show has the unity of the geometry (Pablo Serret de Ena) mixed with the childhood memories of ours toys and how they had developed in this last                                                       years (Bubi Canal, Unai Requejo). > Bubi Canal (sp) Hologram 1:38  Hologram, depicts characters who embark on a journey from darkness and fear to light and love. According to Canal, “the external                                         world of Hologram is a manifestation of the characters’ subconscious. They communicate with each other through a choreography                                   that transforms them.” He believes that optimism and illusion are contagious, and hopes that his work will have a similarly                                       transformative effect on the viewer. Like a hologram, the coherent totality of Canal’s universe can be accessed through each of the                                         works on view. Every piece activates a dimension where memory, imagination, and reality are mutable and inextricably linked. > Cristian Guardia (ven) Trópico 7:25 2011  Trópico is part of the National Naif project (2010 2011), in which there are interests about setting up and legitimizing of venezuelan                                             national identity. Project works are based on souvenir logics, as experiences that simulate direct access to its own essences. For the                                         specific case of Trópico, there is a clear interest on the construction of a fragmented and sinous horizon.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pIAwVBAicU

> Sanglim Han (ko) BLOOM  20102012  3:35  A woman is lying on the floor upside down. She looks up and blinks her eyes. Fluids, which look like thick slimy paint, start to drip down                                                     on her face. Fluids of various colors keep dripping down on her face and it creates an abstract painting on the screen. By the time the                                                   video ends the female face is almost completely indistinguishable and she seems to be a part of the painting.  http://www.sanglimhan.com https://vimeo.com/102308740
