Increase DER hosting capacity of LV distribution networks by smart PV inverters
Smart PV inverters equipped with s Q(U) and P(U) functions allow increasing of DER hosting capacity
Q(U) and P(U) functions work autonomously without the need of communication towards DSO
Within Interflex project in 2 areas, CEZ Distribuce will allow connection of more PVs (areas have a different topology of LV grid)
Based on results, CEZ Distribuce will propose grid code update (calculation for DER hosting capacity) in order to allow more connection of DER in LV networks which are equipped with Q(U) and P(U) functions

Increase DER hosting capacity in MV networks by volt-var control
Existing DERs (PV 4,8MW, Wind 4,6MW, Biogas 1,25MW) connected to the MV network will be retrofitted with volt-var control in order to secure smoother integration and lower voltage fluctuations in the distribution system
DERs will receive voltage set points from CEZ Distribuce DMS (through existing GPRS communication path) and regulate generation/consumption of reactive power in order to eliminate the difference between received voltage set points and instantaneous voltage values which are continuously measured in the point of connection
Based on results, CEZ Distribuce will propose grid code update (calculation for DER hosting capacity) in order to allow more connection of DER in MV networks which are equipped with volt-var control system

Smart EV charging
EV charging stations will be equipped with smart functions for securing smoother integration into the existing distribution networks
Charging stations power output will be limited to 50% in case of under frequency, under voltage or in case of receiving signal from CEZ Distribuce (through narrow band one way simple PLC communication)
Power quality during EV charging will be tested as well (most of existing EVs could be equipped with single phase AC chargers with power over 3,7kW = risk of voltage unbalance). Proposals for EN 61851 standard modification are expected.

Smart energy storage
Smart hybrid PV inverters + home energy storage (batteries) allow increasing of DER hosting capacity
Energy storage will provide power to the distribution network in case of under frequency, under voltage or in case of receiving signal from CEZ Distribuce (through narrow band one way simple PLC communication)
Limitation of PV feed-in power into the distribution network to 50% of PV installed capacity thanks to the external meter and home energy storage
Solution will be tested in one area (in LV network)
