Morland are a UK based supplier of timber fit out products. We manufacture internal flush timber doors, architectural profiles and decorative panels.

Fire door certification is based on a recipe of components.Deviation from recipes can completely invalidate certification.

Incompatible Components Cost Lives!

It is essential that fire door components have undergone stringent testing that ensures performance in the event of a fire.

Morland Door Sets provide certainty that components comply with the rules of third party, accredited certification schemes and that each product has passed the relevant test requirements.

Morland ensure correct components are fitted.

All fire doors are tested to BS 476 -22:1987 / BS EN 1634-1:2014.

Who and what are Certifire?

Certifire are an independent third-party certification scheme that assures performance, quality, reliability and traceability of products and systems.

The Certifire brand is recognised by regulatory authorities worldwide as an international mark of fire safety.

Lifetime Traceability

Morland manufactured fire doors carry individually numbered labels.

Labels are uniquely numbered under the Certifire certification scheme.

Should alterations such as vision panels be made, further labels are applied to maintain certifications.

Labelling ensures door leaves and doorsets are unique, so full traceability is maintained for the lifetime of the door.

This means fire inspectors and landlords, can simply and permanantly identify doors to check the validity of certification. This assists with both building sign-offs and maintenance schedules.

Co-ordinated Door & Frame

Working with EGGER wrapping grade laminate, or colour matched, heavy duty, furniture grade vinyls, Morland are able to match the decor of the door face and lipping, with architectural profiles.*

Finishing timbers such as skirting can also be co-ordinated.

Ironmongery & Furniture

Morland will only supply tested and CE marked ironmongery products on fire doors.

If a specific ironmongery item is required that requires testing, Morland can consult on testing costs.

Typically we fit grade 304 stainless steel hinges using 3no. Class 13 hinges for standard size doors.

Larger, heavier doors are assessed and the correct grade and quantity of hinge scheduled.

Morland can provide door furniture choices from an extensive range.

Where required, Morland will fit intumescent pads and sleeves.

Electronic Door Entry System

For the hospitality market Morland doors have extensive testing with key card entry systems.

Sometimes these systems require a larger than normal mortice in the door and so lock specific testing is required. Tested and approved to work in Morland doors are.

Glazing

Because Morland are the primary door manufacturer, we are able to glaze doors under factory production controls, providing the ideal solution for maintaining certification.

Design Integrity

Morland can take the design details onto the glazing bead so the finish quality is not compromised by the requirement for a vision panel.*

Floor Plan Take Off/Specification

Morland provide a full floor plan take off and can assist writing the ironmongery specification of doorsets using our expertise.

Full detailed schedules can be produced when tendering for projects.

It’s essential the correct fire doorsets are fitted in the correct locations within a building.

To prevent mistakes being made, Morland apply a unique identification label to every doorset that links to the floor plan to ensure doors are installed in the correct location.

Doorset Identification

To comply with safe handling regulations and to assist with transportation all double doors will arrive as a door assembly.

Both the doors and frame are clearly labeled to ensure the correct frames are used with the correct doors.

Morland’s wrapped MDF frame solution Forever Firecheck® encapsulates the fire seal beneath the decor so that fire seals do not need to be removed on site for decoration of the frames.

Supporting Construction And Installation

Morland doorsets are approved to be installed in brick, block, masonry, timber or steel stud of minimum thickness 85mm, providing at least 30 or 60 minutes (as required) fire protection.

Each door frame jamb should be fixed directly through to the wall at not less than four points with steel or nylon fixings at maximum 600mm centres penetrating the wall to at least 50mm.

Architraves are optional with no restrictions on material, size or fixing.

Trimming Door Leafs

Morland ABS lipped doors can NOT be trimmed with the exception of the bottom edge. Subject to the bottom lipping being fully removed the door may be reduced without limit.

Installation Guide

Every single doorset supplied by Morland has a pictorial installation guide attached to the product.

Morland support fire rated Blue 60 foam to ensure the void between the frame and opening is sealed correctly. Installers like the rigidity of foam, Blue 60 and its associated packers helps to ensure the integrity of the original fire test is adhered to upon installation.
