How are we changing?
• Palmer MYP no longer offers a “one size fits all” program restricted solely by academic performance.
• 9th and 10th grade course selections aim to provide appropriate rigor for a range of academic abilities.
• Honors level: based on evidence of above grade-level work, demonstrated student motivation, independence in learning, complexity of content
![Page 26: International Baccalaureate World School Palmer High School](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022081506/56649cb45503460f94977b15/html5/thumbnails/26.jpg)
Inside an MYP Classroom
• These are traits common to all MYP classes, regardless of whether they are instructed at an honors or grade-level.

Why is there an honors packet?
• The honors packet marks the start of a 4-year conversation about academic goals and declares your interest in preparing for IB Diploma classes.
• The packet allows the student to present a “body of evidence” of academic achievement and individual learning needs and provides evidence of readiness for advanced studies at the honor’s level.
