Call for Papers
We are delighted to announce that ICMI will return again in February 2015, after a notable success at University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun, India this year. The conference will take place between 6
th and 7
th February
2015, hosted by the College of Management & Economic Studies, UPES. Every year, the conference brings together thought leaders from academics and corporate, policy makers to deliberate on developments and challenges in infrastructure sector, present their research and initiate new collaborations. About the Conference A well-developed infrastructure adds impetus to nation’s economic growth and international competitiveness. Importance of high order is accorded to infrastructure sector as it plays a crucial role in determining the quality of life of individuals and societies. In order to augment growth and curb poverty, it is necessary to improve the supply, quality and affordability of infrastructure services. The International Conference on Management of Infrastructure (ICMI) 2015 aims at exploring challenges confronted by this sector, and generating worthwhile discussions around the ways to address those challenges. The main objective of the conference is to provide an interdisciplinary forum for discussion, debate and dissemination of information about the newer ways of managing, mitigating and regulating the emerging challenges in ever-changing infrastructure sector.
College of Management & Economics Studies College of Management & Economic Studies (CoMES) is one of the three colleges of UPES which is Asia’s first energy and core sector University. It has now repositioned itself as the nation-builders’ university. COMES combines all the facets of management and economic principles to provide graduate and post graduate programs that are focused on the vital domains of Oil & Gas, Power, Infrastructure, Aviation, Automobiles, Port & Shipping, Information Systems and Logistics & Chain Supply Management and International Business. These programs are designed to develop future managers who are completely aligned to their respective sectors. Combining general management studies with sector specific inputs, the College grooms professionals who have an understanding of strategic business issues facing the core sector even before they are taken on board. Since its inception, CoMES has since then placed more than 2500 such domain-specific managers in the industry. The seventy plus faculty team of CoMES is a rare combination of domain and functional specialists and form a key facet of its academic offerings. It is a dedicated team of professionals driven by a passion for grooming tomorrow’s managers. Highly integrated curriculum, fast growing alumni community, deeper faculty base, a high focus on innovation and research activities at UPES, have added an extra mile to the academic exposure.
Submission of Papers
CoMES invites empirical and conceptual papers and posters, case studies and doctoral thesis that explore and contribute to the
understanding of the pertinent issues of infrastructure sector, and the ways to manage, mitigate and regulate those issues.
Contributions are invited from academicians, managers, policy makers, planners, consultants and students.

Guidelines for Submission of Abstract, Full Paper and Poster, and Case Study
Authors are requested to submit their abstract/ full paper electronically at

Abstract: A brief summary of paper not exceeding 1000 words including objective, methodology, finding, implication, limitations
and key words must be submitted. The abstract must be developed on A4-sheet in Word Document Format typed in Times New
Roman in 12 font size with 1.5 line spacing. The abstract should contain personal details of the author(s) in the order mentioned
below. Title of the paper, name, designation, Institute/ University/ College/ Organization, contact number, e-mail and address(es),
of all the authors.
All abstracts will be peer reviewed and evaluated on the basis of originality, research rigor, relevance to the conference, and
contribution to the theory and practice.
Full Paper: The full paper must be typed on A4- sheet in MS Word Document, Times New Roman,12 font size with 1.5 line spacing.
Ideally the length of the paper should not exceed 8000 words excluding tables and references. Cover page of the final paper should
indicate the title of the paper and an abstract, and contain personal details of the author(s) viz., name, designation, department,
organization, contact number, e-mail and address (es) of all the authors. The main text should begin from the next page. All papers
will be peer reviewed and evaluated on the basis of originality, research rigor, relevance to the conference, and contribution to the
theory and practice.
Final Poster- The poster must be limited to the size of 4' high x 8'. The title of the poster, author(s) names, and the organization has
to be incorporated in large letters centered at the top of the poster whereas the address, phone number and email address in the
upper right-hand corner. It’s been recommended that the authors place a reproduction of the abstract in the upper left side of the
poster, and use the headings "Introduction", "Methods", "Results" and "Conclusions" to identify the poster layout. The layout of
the poster has to be in a logical order so that other researchers can follow the poster. Use Times New Roman in a type size that can
be read easily from a distance of 4 feet or more. No computers or extra aids can be used during a poster presentation.
Case Study: The case study submission must have been completed after January 2014 and must be unpublished. It should be based
on field research, secondary sources or generalized experience and be limited to a maximum 5,000 words, excluding exhibits and
annexes. The submission should be accompanied by a teaching note for which there is no word limit. The case study, and the
teaching note must be typed on A4- sheet in MS Word Document, Times New Roman12 font size with 1.5 line spacing. Author(s)
are required to obtain and submit the consent from the subject organization in case of field based cases, and to acknowledge the
sources of information/ citations in case of secondary data based cases.
Publication and Copyright
Best paper/ case from each theme, judged by the Conference Committee, will be published in forthcoming issue of UPES
Management Review (UMR): An International Journal on Core Sectors (ISSN 2250-0723).
A select number of papers/ cases as chosen by the Conference Committee will be published as an edited book through a reputed
publishing house.
While the copyright of paper/ cases of above two categories will pass on to UPES - for other papers the contributing author/s will
hold the copyright for publishing elsewhere.
