PREFACE

The report of the 1st International Conference on Sustainable

Environment and Civil Engineering (ICSECE’19) held on 28th & 29th March

2019, organized by Department of Civil Engineering of Easwari Engineering

College, Chennai.

The scope of the conference was to encourage and facilitate

multidisciplinary Civil Engineering aspects, placing emphasis on those areas that

will provide the most benefits for the state-of-the-art sustainability methodology

and tracking solutions for knowledge-based and economic technologies. The

conference becomes an efficient knowledge exchange platform for researchers,

engineers, students, entrepreneurs, architects and individuals from the

construction sectors with a hope to develop a sustainable world.

The papers are selected accordingly in the following topics to familiarize

with the trends for sustainable development: construction materials and

management techniques, structures and structural health monitoring, new

approaches in Transportation and Geotechnical Engineering, the water

management and quality treatment related to environment and sustainability and

Renewable and green energy concepts. All papers have undergone the careful

peer-review by expert referees to the professional and scientific standards before

being selected for publications in this volume. The total number of submitted

papers is 230 and 148 are accepted.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all participants for their

contributions and stimulating discussions. We are also grateful to keynote

speakers, referees, exhibitors, committee members and many others for their

valuable efforts for the success of the conference.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

International Conference on Sustainable Environment and Civil

Engineering (ICSECE’19) aims to bring together leading academic scientists,

researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experience and

research result on all aspects of Sustainable Environment and Civil Engineering.

It also provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners

and educators to present and discuss the most recent trends and concerns as well

as practical challenges encounter and solutions adopted in the fields of Civil

Engineering for Sustainable Environment. The main scope of the conference is to

propose an exchange medium for different approaches which can contribute to

the sustainability of the Civil Engineering sector like investigations on

sustainable materials and structures, intelligent principle in green building design,

Sustainable solution in transportation and urban planning.
