short description

The project concerns about the defrostration and its harm to the environment.

Thus, we all tried to focus on the importance of forests and take the interests of public on this crucial problem.

We considered schools as the starting point of the action and then spread out to the local community.

We collected waste paper and turning them into cash bought saplings for planting.

Showing how important themes can be held in eTwinning Projects, we achieved to obtain the support of school staff and local authorities.

aims

Making students care about the environment and create awareness on defrostration

Starting an action that includes the cooperation of seperate school subjects and teachers as well.

Creating opportunities for pupils to improve their language, manual and mental skills.

Giving the students chance to meet with their peers, know their culture and make them work on an international topic together.

By integrating the topic into the cirriculum and organising events that requires active participation of pupils and teachers; the project also aims to raise the motiavation of attendees.

The students stuck the posters on the walls and created a colorful and effective atmosphere at school. By doing this, all the staff and the students were well informed during the process.

We visited a well known local press in our hometown and give them information about our eTwinning project and actions. They liked our idea

and consider it worth for publishing

We organised a painting contest at each partner school. First, partners chose three of the paintings as winners and then giving the contest an international dimension they all decided the best

one of Europe by voting online.

We formed an eTwinning Room at our school and performed our meetings there where the students feel themselves special. Face to face communication and using foreign language was a turning point according to them.

Students who are the members of the team had the chance of working in the room while they are free

eTwinning Room

In eTwinning Room we placed some computers and posters on the wall. Everyweek, on Thursdays, we get together and talk about what we have done and what we are going to do. We also read the workplans and look over the check lists whether we did the required work or not.

eTwinner of the Month

We organize an exciting competition at our school which purposes to choose the etwinner of the month. We consider the use of ICT tools, the number of entrance to the twinspace, the amount of documents that uploaded or comments posted and materials which have prepared related to the projects. Taking these into account we decide on the candidates and make a secret ballot for announcing the winner. In the last week of each month, mostly in the club lesson, we make a ceremony with etwinners. The winner gets a label that shows his success on what and I, as the coordinator stick it on his/her uniform. Then, he carries it for a week and gets some small presents from school administration.

eTwinning Membership Card

The members of eTwinning team has membership cards that are special for them. This is a really motivating way of taking their interest to projects. They know that they are doing useful things and everybody cares their work and evaluate seriously even the director which gives his sign and stamp. They show their ID Cards and this creates curiosity at whole school. This attempt also takes the appreciation of teachers and administrators.

The pupils have some priorities with this card. They get the permission to work in etwinning room and use the computers. They also have the chance of attending the visits to the local authorities and have the chance of voting for the etwinner of the month competition. They are also lucky because they can call one of their friends to join the activities . The pupils who dont have the membership card need to ask language teachers or coordinator for permission to get in the etwinning room or join any activities. These applications are related to sustainability and dissemination of the action.

Our visit to the Bureou of European Union that is responsible for supervising and coordinating any kind of EU projects in local level. After having informed the director of the unit, he accepted our offer as being one of our partner.

Another visit to the Department of Environment. We got support of the unit by having saplings and suitable place for planting them.

The Department of Environment provided us a suitable area and a bus for transferring the pupils. We all planted nearly 200 saplings and formed an international memorial forest.

After planting the saplings we stuck the label which has the flags of participant countries. We gave the name of our Romanian partner to the forest and all the other partners did the same. Now we have a memorial forest both in Romania and Bulgaria. We gave the message “let the world look green”
