What does the IBO believe international education to be?The IBO aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and

caring young people that help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

The this end the IBO works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right

On the consensus board – write your ideas in one of the body out lines around the outside of the sheet of paper.

As a group come to a consensus on the KEY points of what makes the students at our school international – write these points on the RAKESS badge outline.

Learner Profile is Key to our curriculum and the teaching and learning in our classrooms and across our schools.

Mother-tongue clubs starting up on Sunday’s in January run by both parents and teachers.

Children are invited to bring in books in their mother-tongue to read in the class.

Trying to build a bank of mother-tongue resources eg. collect books and games.

Many of our units of Inquiry celebrate and educate our students about the world.

What, then, is a PYP school?A PYP school is a school that, regardless of location, size or

constitution, strives towards developing an internationally minded person… a person who demonstrates the attributes

of the IB learner profile (MPYPH p. 3)
