Internal Structure and Documents
• Working towards a new Concept for the International Relief and International Development to look into the agenda, direction and objectives to be achieved.
• Developing and reviewing relevant policies, processes and documents which improve the organisation’s workings. E.g. Child Protection. These document are developed, as and when required.
• Developed and setting up Agreements and MOUs with local partners in order to improve governance and transparency. Four agreements are in place, and others will be completed.
Engagement and communication:
• Sent out relevant Press Releases, such as the Eid-ul-Fitr message, to the relevant networks with the WF’s commitment on development, partnership and faith, which was received positively.
Developed a document reviewing some of the recent NGO activities in Tanzania providing analysis of Tanzania Civil Society engagement with the government and sector.
• Created a database of volunteers who will be able to contribute in taking the NGO agenda within the global communities forward.
Submitted the quadrennial year report to the UN ECOSOC on The World Federation’s activities to the Millennium Development Goals on health, education and water/sanitation.
Submitted a statement to the UN ECOSOC for the Annual Ministerial Review Meetings showing the commitment of The World Federation on Education and ZCSS inline with UN’s Millennium Development Goals.
Network and Influencing• Continue to engage and
attending relevant meeting hosted by the Muslim Charities Forum, Bond, and UKs Department of International Development. This is an ongoing process, and any relevant meetings will be attended.
• Visited local NGOs in Tanzania such as Foundation of Civil Society and Twaweza to engage, network and review their workings.
Developing the IRED website that articulate our relief and humanitarian
work.
External Funding • Applied for funding from UK-based Trusts to search for funding up
in the areas of Water and Sanitation, Aeinullah Eye Clinic and Autistic Centre. Have not been successful, but this has been a learning.
• In advance stages of discussion with a British Organisation for a comprehensive teacher training activities in Northern Pakistan on a project worth £60,000.
• Will continue searching for other internal and external funding opportunities for project with our community organisations such
as BMMK, Husseini Foundation.
