Background Began in 1999 to deliver the Millennium Volunteers Pilot Project. In 2003 developed University Certificate in volunteering and

Community Action and began to embed volunteer in the curriculum. 2004 became finalists in the THES Awards for Support for

International Students through providing language enriching volunteering experiences in the community.

2006 validation BA (Hons) Active Citizenship and Volunteer Development, plus portfolio of University Certificates and electives

2008 Validation of foundation Degree in volunteering and Community Action

University Certificate in Volunteering for International Students Volunteering has now become part of the ‘Futures’ Personal

Development Programme for all students at UCLan.
