In Mar del Plata, there is an important water reservoir called “Torre Tanque” that brings water to the city. It is located on the Stella Maris hill. It was opened on January 30th 1943 and it has been working since then. The Torre Tanque is a symbol of the water service in Mar del Plata.

En Mar del Plata, hay una importante reserva de agua llamada Torre Tanque que brinda agua a la ciudad. Está situada en la loma de Stella Maris. Fue inaugurada el 30 de enero de 1943 y ha funcionado desde entonces. La Torre Tanque es un emblema del servicio de prestación de agua en Mar del Plata.

There is another water reservoir in Mar del Plata. It is located beneath Plaza Mitre. It distributes water to Costanera Av., Rodríguez Peña St., Córdoba St., Colón Av., Jara Av., Juan B. Justo Av., Talcahuano St., Vértiz St., Tucumán St. and to Almafuerte St. In the past few years, Obras Sanitarias have added safety features in case of a sudden stop in the pumping of the water.

Hay otra reserva de agua en Mar del Plata. Está situada debajo de la Plaza Mitre. Distribuye agua a la Avenida Costanera, Rodríguez Peña, Córdoba, Avenida Colón, Avenida Jara, Avenida Juan B. Justo, Talcahuano y Vértiz. En los últimos años, hubo mejoras de seguridad en caso de un repentino alto en el bombeo del agua.

Many of the largest water reservoirs in New Zealand have been developed principally to produce hydroelectricity. There are several water reservoirs and hydrostations. The usage includes irrigation and municipal water provision.

While in New Zealand the average water usage is 179 liters per person per day, in Mar del Plata this average is 685 liters per person per day. Besides, the people from Mission Heights Junior College (MHJC) have a project in which they have invested more than 20000 dollars and it consists in big tanks that recollect the rain water and then the students use it for drinking.

Mientras que en Nueva Zelanda el promedio de uso de agua es de 179 litros por día por persona, en Mar del Plata es 685 litros por día por persona. Además, ellos tienen un proyecto en el que invirtieron 20000 dólares y consiste en almacenar agua en grandes tanques, y para luego usarla para beber.
